Yes, their "mother-church" and their founder Menno Simons [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menno_Simons ]lived near my city in Emden [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emden ]

But they have today in Emden only round about 100 members.  :(

In the U.S. we have many maybe 70.000






We also have mennonites but the Amish are strickter

Yes the communities are more active in the USA. You see there young people. In the most German churches are the wasp majority old people.  :(

But in whole Germany are a few thousands Mennonites. The 100 members are only in the community of Emden.

The Amish are only one group of Mennonites. You have a few hundreds of thousands in the USA  ;D
