I'm glad he did this publicly. I read that some mooslims were upset that he did it publicly, they said if he were sincere, he should have had a private ceremony etc...blah, blah, blah!

They generally don't like when it gets obvious that there is another way of life.

Good for him. Any Muslim converts to any decent religion either Buddhism, Judaism,
Catholicism or any decent non-Islamic religion is fine with me.
