If I don't have access to a real gun....
« on: March 26, 2008, 08:41:52 PM »
Do you think an airsoft gun will be a good substitute? (For target practice I mean)
Thanks in advance!  O0

Depends on the quality of the airsoft gun, the higher end ones are 1:1 replicas of real firearms and strip down like the real thing, I suppose it'd be good for target practice though the FPS is somewhat low on them.

I would never recommend using an airsoft gun for self defense though.

Alright, thanks!
Yeah, I meant for target practice... self defense hasn't been much of a concern to me here in the states...
but in the future if I make Aliyah it may be of more concern to me.

Thanks for the advice guys!

It should be a concern. Self defense is a number #1 priority, never rely on government to protect you.

From a historical standpoint, you couldn't be more correct!
And since history repeats itself.... you're still correct and always will be correct on this issue haha... O0

Some indoor ranges may have guns you can hire whilst there.

A humble .22 will give you realistic training to start off with.

Try a crossbow.  They're very accurate and have good range.
