i just wrote this for class.

Brazilian society is unequal in a number of ways.  The rich can afford to send their children to private schools enabling them to get a better education and make it into the free elite public universities or equivalent private universities while the poor have to go to inferior private universities. The original source of this inequality is that many of the poor in Brazil are descendants of African slaves who didn't own their own land. When slavery ended in 1888, they were on the lowest rung of the labor force and much of the work they had done as slaves was now being done by the much needed European immigrants. The consequences of this inequality are that the same white elite continues to be the elite in Brazil while the black lower class continues to be on the bottom of society.

My mother grew up in Brasil and that is still like that today the  poor have to make there own cloths and grow there own food because the items there are way to expensive
