Why are there so many self-hating Jews?

Why do so many Jews become self-hating?

Is it because they are trying to prove themselves by "assimilating"?

The biggest task is to make the Jews trust the ETHNIC European nationalism."

Some are driven that way by the attacks of other Jews on them.

Re:  "...Why do so many Jews become self-hating?..."

Speaking only of my own experience, I was told by virtually all of my teachers and classmates, beginning with the first grade, that Jews were Satan, Jews murdered G-d, Jews were not allowed, Jews were the cause of every trouble that ever existed on Earth, Jews stole money, Jews were Communists, Jews were traitors, Jews owned all the banks, Jews owned every newspaper and media outlet, Jews deserved the Holocaust because "they had ruined Germany", etc. etc..

With the advent of puberty, my friends from school told me that their parents had forbid them to ever socialize with Jews again, because it would destroy their "social standing".

Even in university class, a history teacher told the entire class that "America has a serious "minority" problem just like the Soviet Union"..."they call themselves 'Jews' ".

Too much of 'more of the same' to ever write it all down, and all of it within the country which has been better to the Jews than any other.

So, should it be a great wonder to non-Jews, that growing up in this setting somehow might convince a Jew that "he or she should not like themself"?

Do not worry about these people. They are misguided by evil. One day the world will not speak so anymore about the nation of Israel.
Turkey must get out of NATO. NATO must get out of Kosovo-Serbia. Croats must get out of Crajina. All muslims must get out of Christian and Jewish land. Turks must get out of Cyprus. Turks must get out of "Istanbul". "Palestinians" must get out of Israel. Israel must become independent from USA.

Massuh, where did all this happen? The only messages I got about Jews growing up were very positive.

I had a mixed experience growing up in terms of Anti-Semitism.  Most Christians were very respectful toward me, some even telling me Christianity is just the offspring of Judaism, which in a sense it is I guess, though this view could also be dangerous if it is used to prosthelitize.  One summer when I was about 12 and went to sleep-away camp for the first time, one redneck found out I was Jewish and accused me of killing Jesus.  It's actually pretty funny looking back on it.  I think most educated Christians are pretty respectful toward Jews in America.  It's the morons that rely on the usual stereotypes, and many dumb schwartzes unfortunately.

Wow, you're looking good for being over 2000 years old! What cosmetics do you use, Ari? LOL  ;D

It's funny how those same people who say that will never hold the same grudge against Romans, even though Romans murdered a heck of a lot of Christians.

Massuh, where did all this happen? The only messages I got about Jews growing up were very positive.

As I always say, its Jews that attack other Jews. Many of the Jewish communities have these ideas, I grew up with that too.

And even take Yacov's attack on me calling me a self hater, because many Jews are naive and full of their own self worth, they have no compassion or empathy for other Jews.

Where I have the belief that a Jew is a Jew. Problem is these people have never been apart of the real world, and gain the knowledge that destroying each other will never be G-ds wishes.

They will have to face G-d himself, and I see they will never get what they expect.  ;)

The term self hating gets thrown around alot in forum. A self hating jew is obviously one who hates his or her identity.

This label seems to be thrown at anyone who isn't religious. That's unfair. If a person isn't religious you have to respect that, most of the Sephardim that voted Kahane in the knesset weren't even religious.

Maybe calling you a self-hater was not the proper word, but no where in any source of Judasim does it say that a person can twist or change the Halacha just in order to have the approval of others. Even to make other Jews religious, one is not allowed to compromise in the Halacha. Not allowed to violate a Torah or even a Rabbinic law in order to make others religious.

I was not seeking approval, I answered the question put to me from my first post. I never once asked anyone to agree with me.

I think people read to much into things and judge to quickly on a simple question.

I am a Jew and love being a Jew, I can't be anything else.

Its easier to label people they don't understand. A very great weakness in some.

Its not about approval, its about trying to prevent you from making a hugg mistake. Somebody who would truly hate you wouldn't say anything, but just let you make the wrong choice.

Fidei defensor... i cannot believe you actually blamed OTHER JEWS for the reason that many jews self-hate...
that is the exact sort of disturbed cyclical-logic that a self-hater would use.

Frankly, i think self-hating jews are a by-product of assimilation or "good standing" in the community.  Many of the "self-hating" American "Jewish" organizations that are prominent today were COLLABORATORS with the Nazi's, and stood idly by with their gentile friends in refusing to condemn the Fuhrer or make more of an issue out of the holocaust - many had personal motives; they were in a powerful positions, were very comfortable themselves, and didn't want to risk their own prosperity to avert at the time what nobody knew would be the greatest catastrophe in our history!  In any case, it is a direct result from STRAYING from the teachings of God, and failure to perform his tractates and those of our scholars.
As people drift from the religion, they also lose the sense of importance of being "Jewish" and perserving our community and people....  I was hoping that those on this board all understood this, but frankly I think a LOT more Kahane needs to be read!

You are doing a fine example of what I was talking about, you don't know me, I have been in this forum longer than you, you have not long joined, and have 30 odd posts v's my 6500 odds ones, and you have done nothing but push and scream about being me a self hater.

I don't know you, I am  trying very hard to be reasonable with you. Everyone that knows me on this forum, is well aware of how tolerant I am being with you.

I am very ring wing, I am no more self hater than anyone else on this forum. I just not very religious now.

It makes me no more less of a Jew than you.

I think there has been a miscommunication between us.

I hope this doesn't continue.

If you have any questions you wish to ask me, feel free to PM me.

Thank you.

I'm Sorry Fidei Defensor, but his reaction is somewhat warranted, although I agree that we should not be calling each other self-hating Jews on this forum.  You are on a forum dedicated to strong Jewish identity and are stating an idea as ridiculous as stating that good Jews drive other Jews to be "self-hating".  On a forum where so many people consider themselves and strive to be the best Jews they can, this is not an idea that will get a good reaction, and you should have expected that.

This forum does, I agree, but not all Jews believe what we do.

I have seen it in many countries and over many years Jews doing this. I am sorry you don't agree with me, and I glad you have not seen it.

But the world is very big and very wide, and because one person has not seen it then doesn't mean it does not happen.

This forum is about working together will all people from many backgrounds, its not about attacking each other.
