30 Nissan, 5768
Chodesh Tov,
The Staff of The JTF Forum wishes everyone a Happy Rosh Chodesh Iyar.
Rosh Chodesh is Monday, 30 Nissan, and Tuesday, 1 Iyar. The Birth of The New Moon is Monday Morning at 10:18 A.M and 8 chalakim.
Tonight is The 15th Night of The Omer totaling two weeks and one day.
The month starts off with a bang with Yom HaZikaron (Israeli Memorial Day) being Wednesday moved up from Friday, and the government celebrations of Yom Ha'Atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) on Thursday moved up from Shabbat. As far as I'm concerned, Jews outside of Israel should celebrate the religious aspects of it on Shabbat as I have asked Chaim about for tonight's Ask JTF. This is the last time it falls on Shabbat until 2021.
The month also ends with a bang with Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Reunification Day) on Monday, 28 Iyar, the day after The Israel Day Parade in Manhattan.
Yacov Menashe Ben Rachamim,
Chief Administrator.
