6 Passenger Coaches For Israel Railways

Siemens Transportation Systems is delivering 86 passenger coaches worth 125 million euros to the Israeli railway company Israel Railways Ltd. The bogies for the vehicles will be supplied by the Competence Center Graz.
Transnational
Engineering and project management for the order will be executed by Siemens in Vienna and Graz. The car bodies will be constructed at the Siemens plant SKV in Prague, final assembly is to take place in Israel. The trains will be delivered form the end of 2007 until mid 2009. An option regarding the delivery of up to 585 additional cars worth approximately 900 million euros, has also been negotiated.
Largest Order
"This order marks the entry of TS into the Israeli market and simultaneously underlines our role as a systems supplier for the railway industry with international renown. This is one of the largest orders, which has ever been awarded to Siemens by Israel ", explains Brigitte Ederer, Chairwoman of the Executive Board.
