Two words in Hebrew

How does one call the noun 'shop' or 'store' in Hebrew?
Does it sound like 'chanoot'?

The word 'Kahane' or 'Kahana', does that mean a priest in Hebrew?

1. yes chanoot means a shop/store (of course the 'ch' stands for a consonant that englih lacks)

2. The word for a priest is 'Kohen (Cohen)' Kahane is derived from this word (it might be the yiddish for Kohen i'm not sure), and it is a priestly name (the person with such surname is considered a Cohen).

Thanks, I usually use KH instead of CH like KHanoot. But here on JTF I use CH as in CHai.
We also have the word chanoot for shop. I want to learn Hebrew and Greek but I'm always preoccupied with university stuff. Hopefully I can download a video course for beginners.
