Everybody,

Why are the words "fl ock" and shee p" automatically deleted? I assume that this is another nutty filter setting [Lashone Hara removed by TBOT], but can this be changed now?

It used to read "deleted" whenever somebody would type f lock or sheep.

I can see sheep is now allowed, but why is flo ck still on the banned list?

I quoted a post by "f jack" and his name was censored. It still is.

The word f lock is occasionally used as a substitute for a four letter word beginning with F. Maybe that was the reasoning? I don't know why sheep would be blocked though.

F lock seems to be filtered out but sheep works fine now. Maybe f lock was filtered out because of missionaries using the word?

Can one of the administrators just publish the list of banned words so we don't have to go through the entire dictionary to find them all.

I really can't publish that list for obvious reasons but I can tell you that f lock and f jack are NOT in the banned words list. I'm not sure why it is replacing those words. I'll have to look into it.

Alright... I fixed it. I figured out what it was. Banning words with asterisks in them cause this type of problem because asterisks are used as wildcards.

He was trying to ban the asterisk itself then within certain words!!!

Arabs actually avoid the asterisk completely, because it resembles a star of david !

I was the one who wrote about F Jack in my post.

I figured it was censored because of the F at the beginning and the K at the end.
Did it replace it when I separated it into two words?

C.F., I have asked the individual who you are referring to, to stop posting bad things about us. He asked in return that we stop posting things about him and I think that is a fair request. While he has not removed some of the stuff he has already posted, he has not made any additional ones against us. I'm asking everyone to drop this fighting which should have never happened in the first place.
