I have to wonder if the Mormon thing is going to be a real problem for Romney. Most Christians don't consider Mormons to be part of their religion. Furthermore the whole weird thing with Mormons believing American Indians are Israelites or whatever weird stuff they believe could come back to bite Willard.
So some of them despise Mormons so much that they would rather vote for Obama who supports partial-birth abortion as well and also has odd views of babies who survive an abortion?
Well let me put it this way. We have a lot of wishy washy, minimal Christians in the USA. If this is going to be a tight election then some of those votes could matter. They might feel more comfortable with Biden who is a Catholic than with Romney who is a Mormon. People in America generally understand Catholics as being normal even if they don't follow Catholicism. We don't generally understand how Mormon men can look so much like humanoid robots or how the women can want to have such large families and not feel worn out after the third one. (by the way I personally think their large families are nice, they're adding to the white population in America).
Americans don't understand how Mormons can believe some of the wild and wacky things they espouse. We tell their annoying missionaries to go away and leave us alone, we make jokes about how best to prevent them getting to the door, etc. some of which are quite funny but would be criminal if carried out in real life.
So basically Catholics are considered fairly normal even if different from most Christians in America on a few points, and by comparison Mormons are considered wacky by the general population.
Nevertheless I think any problems that Romney might have in this regard could potentially be solved by juxtaposing very nice, conservative looking Mormons with Obama's pastor. lol
