Friedrich August von Hayek

Friedrich August von Hayek, CH (May 8, 1899 – March 23, 1992) was an Austrian-British economist and political philosopher known for his defence of classical liberalism and free-market capitalism against socialist and collectivist thought in the mid-20th century.

He was imo the greatest economist ever. Only Adam Smith & Johann Heinrich von Thünen can compete with him.

I don't know much about him so I can't vote. But I still like to remark that no Economist theory should be sanctified and revered as the absolute truth. There are always adjustment that need to be made, depending on time and circumstances.

No althrough sadly you are right in most cases, he went to London after the Nazis have annected Austria. And wrote great books like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Constitution_of_Liberty

The last chapter is "Why I am Not a Conservative"

There he opposed the European conservatism, because it's opposition to real free market economy. But he admires righteous conservatism.

The good Margaret Thatcher learned a lot from him. He was nearly a groupy.  ;D

I think if hayek would live today he would be a member of JTF.  O0 O0 O0
