Biden lowered $250K cap to $150K

I am listening to Sean Hannity on his radio talk show.  He just said Biden, today, lowered the amount of money from $250K to $150K that we will be allowed to keep.  How can anyone run a business and make payroll on $150K.

that's a funny way of saying something or other.

Do you mean how can they do the payroll when taxed 39% on income > $150k

in the UK it's 40% income tax at > £32K. (about $65k)
So, FAR worse.

But the way it's worked out is this is on taxable income.

In the US it may be the same.

I'm not sure about this but I think payroll is set against that. If that is the case, then any income payed to staff would not be (excuse the expression) income taxed.  Or to use the british tax jargon, "it's tax deductible".
i.e. that figure is deducted from the income that is taxed.

Businesses still lose a huge amount of their profits though, to income tax, and it's very unencouraging for them.

The Govt have other taxes instead of income tax, to put on staff salaries! I'm not sure but I think income tax is irrelevant to it, to the payroll.

changes in income tax won't really stop them paying their staff. not directly anyway. Some indirect ways it may stop them is they may say too much work for too small a gain, screw it, why bother, i'll hire less staff.  Or, I won't run my own business, and won't hire any staff.   I'm not very erudite on this subject though. There are a few others here that would know better

regarding the $250K to $150K, he fixed us good today.  Must have had a mental breakdown from the recent tv interviews where they asked tough questions and mentioned the word, "Marxism."  How can anyone run a small business on that amount?  He lowered it $100,000 and how come Obama wasn't the one to announce it?  this was just a bleep on Sean Hannity's radio show.  he was in a rush to get to his t.v. show.  he's all excited about exposing the Khalidi tape and L.A. Even the 150k number is a red herring. I don't know how they formulate this number but one thing for sure even some people making around 40k will see increases in income tax with Obama. People with large families or select deductions may luck out. However my bet is that almost anyone over the 40k number will fall into a higher basic tax rate. I saw a spot this afternoon with Cavoto and Martha Stewart and she said people need to pay more taxes. When Cavoto pointed out that not everyone was not as rich as she was Martha said people can always just budget themselves. People need to budget themselves so their hard earned money can be taken and given to some lazy filthy beast? People should boycott an evil animal like Stewart she should be ashamed of herself to even suggest something like that. Statements like that should show working Americans just what Socialist Liberals like Obama and Co.have in mind for them.

poor Sean lol.  Alan interrupts and has his facts wrong.  he won't even let anyone answer the question.  Sean works round the clock.  he's got his talk show which lasts 3 hrs. and then his tv show.  he's done a great job.  i hope Sen. McCain has thanked him for his efforts.  he never backed down and by telling the truth about Obama, showed us he is a very brave man.

Martha Stewart is a disgrace.  People are having a hard time putting food on their table, filling their gas tanks to get to work and a barely making it, if making it at all.  It's so easy for these very wealthy people to give us remedies, they are so arrogant, and oh so much smarter than the rest of us common folk.  She scraped her way up from some cruddy town in NJ and stole other peoples' ideas, recipes, crafts, etc., and became filthy rich.  She went to jail over a lousy $50K.  That shows that the real Marthta, the one from Nutley, NJ, is still the scrappy little witch she's always been.  Money just made her more arrogant.  All her neighbors hate her.  She tried to run down the next door neighbor's gardener with her SUV.  She threw a typewriter at the head of her ex-husband, note: ex, and it broke a window in a high rise in NYC.  She presents herself very well on tv and it's hard to believe she's got this rotten temperment.  She's a lonely lady who lives with about 5 dogs.  Her last on-off b/f finally dumped her. 

Everyone is getting a taste of what our nation will be like.  Obama and his running mate have made some mistakes, i.e., going on that local Florida tv station, saying the word "redistribution," walking up on Joe the Plumber's property, and investigating (30) Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber, recruiting a prosecutor and LE to investigate anyone who says the wrong thing in Missouri (not sure of state, i think it's MO,) so I think people are starting to become more aware, unless they like walking around with blinders on, then there is no talking any sense to them.
