A City Council committee Monday unanimously approved a symbolic ban of the racial slur known as the N-word, putting New York in the middle of a national debate over whether the term has evolved into acceptable slang.

"I'm hoping this is the beginning of a move forward to a place where the use of the N-word is simply unacceptable," said Councilman Leroy Comrie (D-Queens), the chief sponsor of the resolution. "So many people have been quietly seething about this for a long time. It's time to bring it into the open."

They may as well go ahead and ban the white race.  Ban whites from having children.

Does this mean libraries will have to hand over historical and scholarly works which use the n-word?
