Putin warns that cheap gas era is over

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has warned consumer countries that gas prices would be rising soon. He said more difficult exploration and development of fields demanded higher charges for gas. Putin was addressing ministers from 13 other gas exporting countries in Moscow as the group, which calls itself the Gas-Exporting Countries Forum, looks to draft a charter that many fear may lead to an OPEC-style cartel. The meeting came as Russian gas giant Gazprom warned European customers of potential disruptions at the new year due to a debt dispute with Ukraine. Almost 80 percent of gas deliveries to Europe go through the former Soviet state.

Oil is what fueled the Russian bubble.  Now that it has burst... Russia will too.

doubtful, since this period of low gas prices will soon end, and they have plenty of cash reserves saved up just incase an event like this was to occur.

I'm certain they WILL NOT be able to handle this implosion.   You will see.... that the bubble is far too massive.  Russia's Real Estate market bubble was far worse than it is here... couple that with the oil bubble bursting and you have a rare double bubble....  Trust me... Russia is in for the depression of the century..... it grew too fast too quickly... and now it will pay.
