Gore BLASTED for Global Warming Hoax

The founder of the Weather Channel is ridiculing Al Gore over his calls for action on global climate change, saying in a column that global warming is a "hoax" and "bad science."

John Coleman, now a weatherman at San Diego's KUSI, wrote on his station's Web site Wednesday that Gore refuses to acknowledge the faulty research on which the idea of global warming is based.

Coleman's lengthy scolding came as the former vice president and Nobel Peace Prize winner addressed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and urged lawmakers to pass a bill that would put caps on heat-trapping gases and take the lead on a global climate treaty.

Coleman wrote that the Environmental Protection Agency is "on the verge" of naming CO2 (carbon dioxide) as a pollutant, and that seemingly all of Washington is on board with such CO2 silliness."

"I am totally convinced there is no scientific basis for any of it," Coleman wrote, describing the decades-old theory that increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere leads to global warming.

"Global Warming. It is the hoax. It is bad science. It is a high jacking of public policy. It is no joke. It is the greatest scam in history," Coleman wrote.

To buy into the current narrative about global warming, you have to believe 3 things:

1.  That the Earth is warming.

2.  That man is the cause of this warming, and that were it not for man, the Earth wouldn't be warming.

3.  That this warming will lead to a catastrophe in the near future.

You have to believe all three.

I've studied this a bit and have spoken with scientists about it, and here is what I think:

1.  The Earth is warming.  We had what is known as "the little ice age" in the 19th century.  The globe is in a natural period of warming as we are coming out of this so-called little ice age.

2.  Man is obviously the cause of man-made pollution.  There are plenty of good reasons why we should try not to pollute unnecessarily without having to make up fictitious reasons.  ie.  preservation of wildlife and fish in our waters, having clean water to drink, preserving the natural beauty of the planet, reducing asthma causing smog, etc.

3.  Some people in the scientific community are beginning to understand that carbon emissions actually cause the planet to cool, not warm, and thus have replaced the term 'global warming' with 'climate change'.  They do this rather than acknowledge their mistake.  There is no reason to believe that carbon emissions will cause an environmental, Earth destroying calamity.  Again, it would be prudent not to pollute unnecessarily for a number of other reasons.

The earth has many natural cycles.

There is a cycle which produces a very hot summer. It produces exceptional wine. I think that it is every seven years; it can also be observed by looking at the cross-section of a tree trunk, where every (seventh) ring is slightly thicker.

There is also another cycle beyond that which waxes and wanes, and this can be seen from careful analysis of the cross-sections of very old trees such as Yew trees. I think that it lasts about eighty years.

For eighty years the earth become hotter, for eighty years the earth becomes cooler.

There are many serious scientists (particularly in Russia, it seems) who are convinced that we're going the other direction, toward an ice age.  This group considers CO2 to be a distraction, and they're concerned that our sun appears to be heading into a weak phase.
