Having recently been living there, I can assure you that it is a myth.
It is true that in the production and management end of show business, there is a very tiny minority of Jews whose success in their respective industry lends them supposed "control" over Hollywood.
Here's a challenge:
Pick any film that is a success...let's choose "300", because it is a new release and a blockbuster.
Make a complete and concise list of names of the people involved in any capacity whatsoever in the making & presentation of the film "300".
Start with the stars in descending order; then the directors, producers, scriptwriters, gaffers, electricians, best boys, cameramen, wardrobe consultants, computer effects studio workers, artists, carpenters, etc. etc. until each and every name is on your list.
Then, do the same with every aspect of the film's completion: editing, developing, duplication, licensing, film & screen actors' guild executives & bookkeepers, promotions, composer, orchestra & other musicians who recorded the score, ........ keep going.....until everyone is on the list for one movie.
Then, add up the total of Jewish names.
Add up the total of non-Jewish names.
Find out if the film was filmed in Hollywood, Canada, Israel, or elsewhere.
You will find that just because a few rich Jews in Hollywood or Beverly Hills have their names constantly bandied about in the media, the far greater power, talent, and input, lies with the non-Jews in the business, not to mention bankers (many, if not most of them, both foreigners and also non-Jews) who decide (or not) to finance the production of a film.
Finally, for every Jewish name which is a success in the entertainment business, you can make a list of at least 100 Jewish names who were and are total failures in that industry (and the same goes for the non-Jewish names).
p.s.--every time you read about, or hear the name of, a "show business celebrity", what you are actually doing is believing or following a script manufactured for the mass media, which those celebrities' managers pay companies to produce, in order to keep them in the public eye.
Ninety-nine out of hundred things they say or write are complete and total fabrications.
