Religion
Main article: Serbian Orthodox Church

Fresco from Visoki Dečani, Visoki Dečani, Serbia, 1200sConversion of the South Slavs from paganism to Christianity began in the 7th century, long before the Great Schism, the split between the Orthodox East and the Roman Catholic West, the Serbs were fully christian 870 by Byzantine Christian Missionairies (Saints) Cyril and Methodius. After the Schism, those who lived under the Orthodox sphere of influence became Orthodox and those who lived under the Catholic sphere of influence became Catholic, thus, Croats were Catholic and Serbs - Orthodox Christian. Later, with the arrival of the Ottoman Empire, many Slavs converted to Islam. Some ethnologists consider that the distinct Serb, Croatian and Bosniak identities were drawn from religion rather than ethnicity.

btw Mileva Marić was the co-author of the theory of relativity.

I heard about Ana Jovanovic and Jelena Jankovic, they are one of the best in the world.
Don't know anything about the others. Did they play in the past?

Serbia is also good in team sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball etc.

By the way, thanks for locking that thread. It's painful to see quarrels here.

We all know about Nikola Tesla

I don't know much about Nikola Tesla. I only know that he was a great physicist and physical magnetic field unit is called in his honor - Tesla. I also know some people call him "Master of Lightning" (why?)

It's interesting that he was critical of Einstein theory of relativity:

Quote
magnificent mathematical garb which fascinates, dazzles and makes people blind to the underlying errors. The theory is like a beggar clothed in purple whom ignorant people take for a king ... its exponents are brilliant men but they are metaphysicists rather than scientists

For Tesla to be recognized as the true pioneer and leader when it comes to bringing the electricity would make the Serbs look intelligent. Of course, that is impossible due to today's propaganda about Serbs and their history and fight for their tradition and religion.

In the first place, telling typical american who the true pioneer of electricity is would immediatelly have a response "that is a serbian propaganda". Well, let's take a look at the history and see who is lying....good luck on that.
Of course, the true story about the real scientist when it comes to electricity does not expand to every american or for that fact elsewhere in the world. I can almost certainly guarantee you that if you ask almost any physicist about the truth, I am sure that they would unanimously say "Tesla".

See, reading books that do make sense really does pay off. Payoff is called intelligence.

Yes !!Tesla is responsible for developing the use of AC power which is what we use today. Edison believed in the use of DC which required having a powerhouse every few miles. Tesla sold many of his ideas to George Westinghouse and it allowed Westinghouse to overtake Edison in the battle between Edison's DC distribution system and Westinghouse's AC  Tesla's Lab. is still standing here on Long Island N.Y. It sits on some New York State land and may soon be torn down.
