I live in Canada, where we have socialized medicine, run by the provinces and half paid for by the federal government. I see many flaws with our system. It is not efficient, costs too much, and limits options for treatment. Still, Canadians (being as full of themselves as they are by not being American) often say, "at least we have a better system than the Americans". They assume that there are many people in the states who don't have insurance and so when they get sick, they simply die.
I don't know what actually happens down here, but I suspect that contrary to what Canadians think, there aren't millions of people who don't get treatment for cancer because they don't have insurance. How does having a privatized healthcare system work? Is it a good thing?
