The presumption of innocence is important but we have carried it to a state of ridiculousness.  There could be a live TV crew filming someone shooting people and when the police finally take him down and are cuffing him you can rest assured that the news anchor will refer to him as the "alleged shooter".

It is because here in Germany you go to jail for 3 months for just painting a swastika on a wall. And his heroes do not have any tombs here either. The bodies of the criminals were buried in hole in unknown places - just to have no Nazi-pilgrimage here.
