Anniversary since the aggression against Krajina marked in Serbia and RS
04 August 2009.
The 14th anniversary since the Croatian aggression against then Republic of Srpska Krajina and exodus of some 340 thousand Serbs from that area has been marked. The memorial service to the victims of the “Storm” operation has been held in the church of St. Marc in Belgrade, and it was attended by Serbian President Boris Tadic. After that a commemoration gathering was organized, where the Resolution of the Krajisnik Gathering was read, which severely condemns the ethnic cleansing of the Serb people from Croatia, and asks for the resolving of the open issues relating of the basic human rights of the expelled Serbs. Representatives of refugees from Krajina have requested the more intensive search for killed and missing persons, the payment of war reparations and return of the usurped private property, the restitution of tenant rights, cancelation of illegitimate verdicts passed in the absence of defendants, as well as the publication of secret verdicts and indictments against the Serbs. The anniversary has also been marked in the Republic of Srpska. In the temple of Christ the Savior in Banjaluka the service has been done, attended by the citizens and many officials of this entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina. More than 2,000 Serbs have been murdered or went missing during the “Storm” operation, while some 220 thousand have been expelled. In the continuation of that operation, in western Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Croatian forces in cooperation with the B-H Army have killed another 655 and expelled 125 thousand Serbs.
