Indian Israelis celebrate India's I-day
« on: August 21, 2009, 12:48:33 PM »
Some 200 Indian Jews could be seen standing around India's flag early last Saturday at the Herzliya residence of the south Asian giant's ambassador to Israel.

They had come there at 8:30 A.M. sharp to attend the traditional celebration of India's 63rd Independence Day - an event which stands out against the backdrop of Israel's diplomatic community.

That's because the Indian embassy has taken the unusual decision of placing Indian-Israelis at the center of its main event, instead of following the example of most other embassies, and holding an exclusive get-together for the usual and crowd of local businessmen, foreign diplomats and reporters.

In fact, very few non-Indians could be seen among the 250-odd people in attendance at the event - which is normally closed to the media. The stage belonged to immigrants from India, who even provided an upbeat traditional song and dance experience by the pool of Ambassador Shri Navtej Sarna and his wife.

Perhaps the fact that they were the guests of honor compelled so many Indian-Israelis to show up despite the less-than-convenient timing, which was scheduled to coincide with the raising of the national banner in New Delhi. The same crowd assembles there in late January, for India's Republic Day. "It is moving to see how twice a year, hundreds of Indian Israelis come to the embassy's events from all over the country," the ambassador told Anglo File.

Noah Massil, President of the 50,000-strong community of Indian Jews, says that "there's a very deep attachment among Indian-Israelis to their mother country, unlike in Britain and France, whose Jews often feel [ambivalent] toward their country of origin."

Massil, born to a family of six siblings in Maharashtra one year before India received its independence, added: "India is a mosaic of cultures to the point that there is no real majority. This, of course, manifests itself in acceptance of minorities. And that in turn makes Indian Jews feel a lot of love for their country."

India established diplomatic relations with Israel in 1992. Currently, Israel and India have a trade volume of roughly $4 billion, which both countries say they are eager to expand.

HinduZionist,
Yesterday I watched a documentary about Sikhs and their rebillion under Sant Jamail who was killed in the rebellion by Indira Gandhi troops. More than 20000 Sikhs were killed by Hindus in reprisal for Indira Gandhi assassination. What is your take on this history and what is the status of relationship with the Sikh community today?
Thank you!

i dont know if you watched a propoganda documentary by Khalistani Sikh organisations(which are banned in US/UK/India and other countries) or factual media agency documentary.
yes thousands of SIkhs were killed and some went missing, it was state sponsored crime by Congress government officials after what happened to their leader Indira. It was COngress vs Sikhs, and not Hindus vs Sikhs. Today many Sikh organisations are in allaince with Hindu Nationalist organistions, and they also admit that it were the Hindu nationalist people who came to help them when Congress leaders led mobs went on a rampage.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagdish_Tytler

Today COngress has successfully confronted their label as Sikh killers, by showcasing a Sikh person Manmohan Singh, our current PM, as their leader. As always they have been able to hoodwink the people. Some people ask us, if Congress were Sikh haters, how come a Sikh, agreed to join their party. The answer is simple, just like there are self-hating pro-muslim hindus, their also exist self-hating pro-muslim sikhs!

Thanks for your reply! I watched history channel documentary and I did not find it biased in any way. The operation against Sikh holly temple was directed by a Sikh general in the Indian armed forces, so the fact that Congress has a Sikh leader doesn't prove anything except the point you've made earlier. I think the percentage of self-hating Hindus is fairly high. BTW, why it took India 44 years to recognize the State of Israel? Was it a Congress government that did it?

it was only in 1992 that India started to have diplomatic relations with Israel. After 44 yrs, yes. It is important to note, at that time India was not ruled by any Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated also (1991), and it was only in 1997 that Rajiv's wife Sonia formally joined Indian Politics. In 1992, it was the first time that India was ruled by Non-Gandhi, although it was the same socialist government. The late PM of India P.V. Narsimha Rao initiated it. 1992 was the time when face of Indian Politics changed, a strong Hindutva (Hindu Nationalist) wave was going on, which made it possible for us Hindus to break down the hideous Mosque like structure standing over our Holy Temple. So 1992 has been a milestone of a sort for Hindus as well as pro-Zionists.

Thank you for explanation! What is the Mosque like structure standing over Hindu Holy Temple? I know muslimes have done wherever they've conquered, but which one in particular you refer to? Has the mosque toilet been demolished?

Sikhs are among the bravest nationalists. They are born patriots and fighters. Mulamics feared them most and in turn they decimated them to such an extent, that in Papistan666 now no more than 2000 Sikhs reside. Lahore which was the throne of the largest Sikh Kingdom, now has only 7 Sikh families.

So Papistan666 always had an evil eye cast on the Sikhs. After liberation of Bangladesh, they got the opportunity when USSR entered Afghanistan and America started throwing $$$'s in to Papistan for growth of Taliban like things. Papistan666 diverted a huge portion of this money on its eastern border and tried to create a facade of separatism among the Sikhs. The EuroCommunist policies were vitiating the environment in Punjab and so Papistani propaganda found a bit of temporary success.

However the day the Sikhs understood that they were being made a pawn in the hands of Papistan666, they crushed the separatists in matter of days.

As a repetition of the story, now again Papistan666 is diverting the American Dollars for the terrorists in Pak occupied Kashmir.
There are thunders and sparks in the skies, because Faraday invented the electricity.
