Any suggestion for good Charities?
« on: September 10, 2009, 12:12:57 AM »
Shalom,

It is this week which I finally decide on which charities I will give my dollar to.

I have a short list of charities I normally give to.

I have recently been solicited by a charity called Afikim which feeds hungry children in Israel. I haven't given to them before and I was wondering if anyone had given to them in the past.

My short list currently is:

Aish.com [ http://www.aish.com ]
My local Chabad
Chabad National Telethon {this coming Sunday, September 13th} [ http://tolife.com ]
Ezras Torah [ http://www.ezrastorah.org/ ]

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14
