(IsraelNN.com) The cabinet approved a 340-million-shekel package of benefits for Sderot and Gaza-belt communities on Sunday. Most of the benefits are in the form of building reinforcement against missiles launched from the Hamas-controlled area. There is also a NIS 51 million upgrade of the sewer system and a 15-million-shekel grant for the area.
Under the deal, municipal-tax discounts will be lowered from the current 50-percent level to 35 percent for residences and 30 percent for businesses. Income-tax discounts are being lowered to 20 percent with a ceiling of NIS 222-thousand.
