There was a dramatic increase in Anti-Semitic incidents in western Europe and an increase in the incidence of violence against Jews in 2009, according to the annual report of the Forum in the Struggle against Anti-Semitism, which was presented Sunday in a news conference at the Jewish Agency building in Jerusalem. The year was the worst since the end of the second World War, with more incidents reported during the first quarter of the year than all of 2008.
Chairman Natan Sharansky of the Jewish Agency announced his intention to increase the number of emissaries to foreign universities from 19 to more than 100.
