« on: March 09, 2010, 01:30:53 PM »
Hello ,
I am 29 years old , student from Israel ,
my name Is shay , so hello everyone, i am new here ,
Liked some of Hayim vids, agreed with a lot of it , not with all of it,
I must say, i am a secular jew -very liberal , I love my country , i dont like much of the way the press presents us . or the way things are going on In Israel right now .

I live in Haifa and 2 weeks ago , a coffe bar didnt let a soldier stay in and served as long as he wore his uniforms, this happens in 2010 Israel, and i couldnt belive it, and this place got a shutting down order from the city BUT its still open!
I dont know if you guys have heard about it
for those who can read hebrew , here is a link :

Welcome to JTF.  If it was me, I would given them an earful.  That coffee shop should be boycotted by all good Jews.

Well,
As for the coffe shop its really a restaurant .
And the article also was published at the other major news papers in Israel ,
As i have wrote, the city have decided to close down the restaurant and revoke its liencense but its still working .... !!!
Now , the thing is , that restaurant is located in haifa in Hadar area - in which mostly jews live there...
the owner is arab, and he says he has no problem of jews coming eating there. but when a soldier comes, he refused giving them service and are asked to go out..... when the soldier called the police, the police had nothing to do , as they had nothing to charge the owner with .... this is Israel of 2010 ., where jew soldier can eat in restaurant.... sad!
for more info about this case i am adding more links in heb for those who can read heb , and also the boycotted group in facebook,

Welcome Shay! So nice to meet you! I am very sorry this happened to a soldier, they should be respected by ALL that live among him. Does this arab restaurant owner NOT realize this soldier is also protecting HIM? I would boycott this restaurant for this and pass the word onto all. Even put in the paper "Letter to the Editor" about this, so ALL will know!

Hello Shay.

Welcome to the forum. When you wrote where is "a jew soldier supposed to eat," that made me really sad.  It's bloody outrageous that an Israeli soldier can't eat whereever he/she wants.  I mean that's f***ing 'apartheid.

sadly but thats the reality in today`s Israel.
I studies for a year in my city university -Haifa unversity , it felt like being in Hamas university, the arabs control it, and the jews are too afraid to react, and the university mangers do nothing to stop it  , all in the name " freedom of speach "

There are many examples, but here is one.
read about this guy :
http://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%A8%D7%90%D7%90%D7%93_%D7%A1%D7%9C%D7%90%D7%97

belive it or not, he was allowed to speak and spred his words of terror in Haifa unversity . here is links for the article about the that event :

going to study now,
have a good day or  good night , for you guys

Does that coffee shop hire Arabs? If yes, I agree that it should be boycotted. We shouldn't give them one penny even.

Welcome to the Forum Shay!

You mentioned you were liberal, could you share your view about the 2 State solution that the World is imposing on Israel.
Do you agree with that or not?

Thank you Shay.                         Shalom - Dox

1 I would`nt want or like to descire my self as right or left as once i do that, i difine my self and "cage" my self behind fdefinition of how i am suppose to think if i am right or left wing.....
2 I consider my self and decide what i think about a case- per its case - I consider my self realistic . liberal and more , depands on whats the case and the subject

3 I am against 2 states solutions , that would`nt work.

4 when  i wrote i am liberal , i didnt meant i belong  to the left wing, but i have some view with are considered non ordtodox ....

hope that helps to clear things about my views...

Sure thing,

Also , i consider my self as  A jew - and then an Israeli,
But i am secular, and liberal ,
I dont keep Kosher and Shabbat etc....
Live and let live and a good moto in many cases....  respect other people and their  feelings,
איש איש באמונתו יחיה.... That a good slogen ,
I strongly relate (in a good way ) to the zionists ortodox jews- such as MAFDAL , and the "Kipot Srogot "  I can also say i know very well , more than other people some of the viraities in our colture.... My father (RIP) was orinaly in Bnei Akiva , and i see how today they are getting "fanatics" in my opinion - for example the case that they wouldnt want boys to hear a female singer and more.....
I have family which are secular, Somrie Masoret. Kipot Srogot , and Haredim - ortodox jews in Beni brak...
So i can say i know in a way what the issue about some of our streams.....

I must say i dont really like many of the Hardim ways, Not working ,Not serving in the army , and more..

going back to study.
