By Susan Davis
Republicans nominated former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle as their candidate to take on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

Angle, the favorite of tea party activists, was endorsed by the Tea Party Express. She dispatched her two main rivals, and the Associated Press declared her the winner in the race with 39% of the vote and 59% of precincts reporting.

She was not the choice of the Republican establishment, who believed that former state GOP Party Chairwoman Sue Lowden stood a better chance of defeating Reid this November. Lowden was running a distant second with 28% of the vote.

Angle, while popular among the party’s conservative base, has a polarizing style that could improve Reid’s fortunes with the broader Nevada electorate. He has held the strongest polling leads against Angle in general election match-ups.

However, the majority leader has suffered from low approval ratings this year despite aggressive campaigning and advertising, and Republicans are all but certain to make Nevada a top target this November.

Sharron Angle beat the odds in emerging as the winner of the 3 way race in the Nevada Republican U.S. Senate Primary.      Angle's race against Harry Reid in the General Election in Nevada could easily prove to be a litmus test about the direction the people of the United States want the country to go in.     While I certainly hope that Sharron Angle wins the election by a wide margin,    the only potential downside that comes to mind is if the Republicans don't get a majority in the U.S.  Senate,       Chuck Schumer would probably emerge as the Majority " Leader"   in the U.S. Senate.

"Israel's leaders seem to be more afraid of Obama than they are of G-d. Now we're getting to the real root of the problem. Secular politics won't save Israel. Denying the divine nature of the Jewish State has brought Israel neither stability nor peace. When that changes Israel will finally be blessed with both in abundance"-----------NormanF   ( Posted on Israel Matzav's Blog )
