Quote

KAHANE Magazine (Brooklyn, New York)

Thursday, May 1990

Isolation. The Jew does not wish to be isolated. He fears being alone, without allies. He fears man, he trusts only in man and so - in the exquisitely Divine way of the Almighty - precisely that which he fears will be sent upon him. He fears to do that which the Almighty demands - to annex the territories and establish Jewish sovereignty over them, as part of the Holy Land of Israel. The Almighty repays him by turning them into burning cauldrons of an intifada, with confused Israeli youth not knowing whether these Holy lands are indeed Jewish or "occupied". While a world that is normal and knows that if land belongs to you then you annex it, feels free to condemn a country that does not do so as an "occupier".

He fears to throw out the cancer raging in his midst - the Arab enemy - lest the world turn on him. He is repaid measure for measure by a grim Almighty as the world,! daily, condemns him for "oppression" of people that would not have been there had he had faith in G-d rather than fear of the Gentile.

In any event, the Jew will be isolated, and that is the greatest blessing imaginable. For so long as the Jew has even one ally, he will be convinced - in his smallness of mind - that his salvation came from that ally. It is only when he is alone - against all of his own efforts and frantic attempts - that he will, through no choice, be compelled to turn to G-d. And it is only when the Jew stands alone against a world unified in hatred against him, that the Almighty will turn, in His anger and wrath, against the nations that knew Him not, and His powerful arm that will bring salvation to the Jew will be the awesome proof to the nations that the Lord, G-d of Israel, is indeed One - the only One.

That is why isolation will be. That it is why it must be. It is the greatest of blessings, and the foolish Jew of little faith sees it only as a curse. Foolish Jew, Jew of Exile, whose soul and mind has been destroyed by that Exile, who has turned from a Jew of faith into one of trembling before the man of dust

Unless. Unless we become the Jews we were meant to be. The Jews of chosenness. Of might and faith. Unless we ignore both the money and the honey of the United States and their empty threats and condemnation. Condemnation? It is dandruff to be brushed away before moving on to do the will of G-d. In any event, there is no choice. The United States will turn on Israel, slowly and subtly. The difference is that if we turn from the Gentile first, we will have the Almighty as the immediate staff and our comfort. If not, we will have neither the Gentile nor, for a terrible stage, the Almighty.

It is now 2010.  Two decades have passed as of last month since these wise words were written.  Food for thought.

What a genius he was! Not one of his words is empty, they all pierce like a sword.
I wish there were more leaders and spiritual giants like him, but unfortunately, he was one in a billion.

I don't see how that's being a light onto the nations

When the world sees a true Jewish state in its proper condition this will be the light unto the nations.  A land of Mitzvah, a land ruled w/o outside influence, a land that stands on its own two feet, a nation which does not tolerate evil, a land that relies only upon HaShem and itself -- this is what is to be emulated.  When Israel defies all odds and claims its rightful place in the world, the world will then know with certainty that HaShem is real, and He is G-d.  IMO.

It is not a coincidence that this was just posted and this Shabbats Torah Parasha is Balak. I am intending to write {bli neder} a discussion of this Parasha in the Torah section of the forum.

This Parasha contains the following 'curse' which is actually a blessing from Baalams mouth:

Numbers Chapter 23
7. He took up his parable and said, "Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram, from the mountains of the east [saying], 'Come, curse Jacob for me and come invoke wrath against Israel.'
8. How can I curse whom G-d has not cursed, and how can I invoke wrath if the Lord has not been angered?
9. For from their beginning, I see them as mountain peaks, and I behold them as hills; it is a nation that will dwell alone, and will not be reckoned among the nations.
10. Who counted the dust of Jacob or the number of a fourth of [or, of the seed of] Israel? May my soul die the death of the upright and let my end be like his."

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

That would be nice.

But its easy to get the impressionism that would  be a people that is xenophobic who   would not  allow tourists or dialogue with other countries , I mean when the temple is built there is a section of the mount that gentiles can make a karban and pray. Kahane even said that non Jews can live in Israel  in the 60 interview with Mike Wallace , so it can get confusing . However , since Judaism is not a religion, but a national religion hybrid he stated for voting rights you need to be a Jew because he was tired of seeing Jews being ruled by Islam. I don't blame him. I admire that he had the courage to be honest and have the integrity to stick to that when he was a MK.

I suppose though as of right now we don't  have all  Jews in  Israel , there is no Messiah , no Temple , no proper borders ..we do get to share Israel with Arabs that want to kill us.... YAY lol oh yea and PIPI !lol

Hah I half joke but ill take what I can get its better then before 1948.

ohhh yeaaa  ... I knew what Kahane said was familiar .

But i will tell you what

I think if all we did was have pride and Israel stopped caring what the UN said the world would respect us.

I also think though the rest of the world will ask us about the torah, its in the Tanach. So we really wont be isolated with the rest of the world they just wont rule over us like they do now.

Do you think then this is what Kahane meant by isolated not so much as to be like the way China was, but more "isolated from foreign rule"

Yes.  I think Israel should always be run the Jewish way [unlike now], and decadent things from secular society should be kept at bay adamantly [tv shows like, "Sex in the City", or XXX pornography, etc], but I think Rabbi Kahane would not advocate a total eradication of relationship with the outside world.  We just shouldn't look to any outsider for approval, or rely on anyone but ourselves [and HaShem].

It's called leading by example.  (I think).

And it is a "light" to people to show them what human dignity and self-respect is, and to put values and morality over the 'almighty dollar' -  All this is an enormous light to the world.

Being "isolated" does not mean we do not allow tourists.

Bli neder, I'm going to quote for you the Rashi on Chumash which speaks about Yissachar and Zevulun, which is very relevant to this subject...
