"The investigation now turns on how the thieves obtained access to the luggage of the Netanyahu party, knew which bag to steal and were able to spirit it out of JFK ....."

This is indeed a remarkable incident.  First, there are handguns on the 'secure' side of JFK, and if they're on the secure side of JFK, then they could pop-up at any other airport.  But more important is that this is clearly an inside job, and if these insiders can lift these firearms, then they can manage an incident on a plane at any time of their choosing.

That's a great point!  I wonder if it was an inside job!

Debka is very creative.   Maybe some of their people should consider writing novels.

Netenyahu's entire trip here has left me scratching my head ..... Why did he come to the White House  such a short time after the shvartza Administration showed him such great disrespect.... This hand gun issue really is a topper however... What sort of security surrounds the Prime Minister?  Something seems clearly out of place here... If nothing else I believe this was an incident to distract and embarrass the PM.

Yes, this story was reported on several websites yesterday... It doesn't come from DEBKA..

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

I cannot believe the security lapses that are happening.  This is not good for any elected official.  I am sure the wrong characters knew Netanyahu's security staff would have weapons.  Inside Job, entirely probable!

Ok fine it was reported elsewhere, then that gives it credibility.  But you admit that without reports in other outlets their claims would not be credible?  You might as well cite the source of the information (the other newsites) rather than debka parroting them.   Because whenever it's debka's "hiddush" it's certainly a remarkable creation.

Re:  "If nothing else I believe this was an incident to distract and embarrass the PM. "

It is either that, or a fabricated story to distract all interested observers away from the facts of Netanyahu's visit with Obama.

Or...maybe it is a combination of all of the above.

Debka has long been criticized as a disseminator of disinformation and propaganda.

Nothing about this news story "adds up" when put under analysis.

So...what's the truth?

The truth, is that we don't know the truth.

Guard yourselves against blindly accepting as fact anything printed or broadcast from Israeli connected media sources.

Realize that Netanyahu and ilk are not devout students of Torah spreading light to the world.

They are in fact cheap scoundrel politicians for the most part, no different in their values and tactics than Hussein Obama and his buddies.

Support for the Jewish People and The State of Israel is not synonymous with blind acceptance of all reports released by the Israeli media.

Obviously you did not read the story...

The guns were left in a box on a plane which somehow was misplaced.... The box was found at another airport, the guns were missing... The guns never were close to the White House..

Here is the story in the SF Chronicle : http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/07/07/international/i024237D39.DTL

07-07) 02:42 PDT JERUSALEM, Israel (AP) --

Israeli security officials say four pistols disappeared from the suitcase of a bodyguard accompanying Israel's prime minister in the U.S.

The Shin Bet, Israel's domestic security service, says the luggage was checked in for a flight from Washington to New York but ended up in Los Angeles — without the four 9mm Glock handguns.

A Shin Bet spokesman said Wednesday it is not clear whether the guns disappeared before or after the luggage was put on the wrong flight.

He spoke on condition of anonymity in line with Shin Bet rules.

Israeli and U.S. officials are investigating the incident.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Barack Obama at the White House on Tuesday, then flew to New York for meetings with American Jewish leaders.
