I think bad things will be happening in the upcoming years, but the silver lining will be Obama will be out of office.  ( most likely)

I hope I can get Dec. 21 off of work, because I'm afraid people will be panicking and going crazy and might hurt each other, similar to what happened in 1999. Other than that I don't see anything major happening.

All the jig in Chief has to do is sign with his pen a piece of paper declaring Martial Law and National Emergency (G-d knows he himself has already caused enough national emergencies since he's been in office) and revoke the Constitution and elections.  Don't put it past him.  He and his minions are far too cunning to simply allow themselves to be "voted out" of office.

MassuhDGoodName,   the possibility that you mentioned and/  or the possibility of WIDE spread election fraud is something I've envisioned as that could happen for quite a while  ( even before the 2008 Presidential Election).       Barack Hussein Obama's emergence to the oval office is by far the greatest threat to the survival of the United States of America in the country's history.         Unlike the threat of Nazi Germany and Japan in WWII and the Soviet Union during the Cold War,    this time the USA has an internal enemy.      With somewhere over 40% of the people of this country still supporting him!

The way I heard it was that the current cycle will end and a new one will begin, but the calendar doesn't go past that date.

the Apacalypse is not at all impossible according to Torah, its written in Torah, Gog and Magog or Armaggedon war, the final battle betweeen good and evil, darkness and light...that is the Apocalypse.
