Re: "the suspect known as Uri Brodsky is free to travel wherever he wants to go while judicial proceedings against him in Germany will continue. "
Translation:
"...the suspect known as Uri Brodsky" means that Uri Brodsky is a fictitious name used by the Mossad agent.
"...free to travel wherever he wants to go " means that "the suspect" is a free man and will return to Israel with a "wink and nod" from the German government.
"...while judicial proceedings against him in Germany will continue " means that his case will remain open indefinitely until the world forgets all about it (about six months) and then be quietly dismissed for lack of evidence,
or
It is possible (but less likely) that "Uri Brodsky" will be found "guilty" in absentia to assisting in a forged document, sentenced to never return to Germany, and then the case will be closed and expunged from record.
Summary:
There are no consequences for Israel, and this is because Israel was acting with the assistance and knowledge of Germany's intelligence services.
The "arrest, extradition, and prosecution" is mere "show" for the benefit of "world opinion" -- a "whitewashing" of the fact that Germany approves of and benefits from these actions, just so long as it's Jews who do the dirty work, and so long as Germany can retain "plausible deniability" in the eyes of the public.
None of this is "fair play" and it's total hypocrisy for Israel to be receive this kind of treatment, but this is how things actually work in the real world, behind the prying eyes of the public.
People, things, and events are quite often not as they appear in the media and in the speeches of politicians.
And without such foolishness, clandestine operations by intelligence services could not exist.
