Any opinions of him?

Alan Colmes is scared of him.

He does tend to be an multinational corporatist and neocon, but at least he is a civilized, cultured African American that is not a stereotypical liberal.

Speaking of multinational corporatist, is "globalization" a code-word for it?

I think he's brilliant in many ways.   You can read all his columns on Townhall.com  His criticizes the following in his writings:

    * Alleged liberal media bias
    * judicial activism (while staunchly defending originalism)
    * partial birth abortion
    * government-sponsored marriage, especially gay marriage
    * termination of medical life support
    * minimum wage
    * socializing health care
    * affirmative action
    * government bureaucracy

You can read a bio of him here:

Well, I mean he is one of those who slavishly defends the "free market" and so-called "free trade" no matter what. For instance, he supports Wal-Mart, which as far as I am concerned, is, along with China, the Antichrist.

But yeah, his social conservatism is impeccable.

Actually Chaimfan, Sowell is against illegal immigration.  And he the following to say about those who are all for the free movement of goods, services and people across borders:

Quote
Some of the more doctrinaire free trade advocates see the free movement of people across national borders as being just like the free movement of goods. But, when you buy a Toyota, it doesn't issue demands that our automobile laws be in Japanese and it doesn't have little Toyotas that add to the crime rate or to the burdens of our school system.

Moreover, when a Toyota needs repair, it doesn't go to an emergency room and expect the taxpayers to pay for parts and labor.

Whoever buys a Toyota is expected to pay the full price of the car and its upkeep.

But employers of illegal immigrants get the benefit of cheap labor and leave it to the taxpayers to cover the costs of their health care, imprisonment and everything else.

Our schools pay the price not only in money but also in lower educational quality when children with a limited knowledge of English and a limited commitment to learning impede the education of other children.

Both sites you've linked to tend to have great pundits who write good articles.
