Himmler's daughter member of Nazi fugitive aid group, Germany does nothing

Still Hilfe, or Silent Aid, has been funding defense for Third Reich war criminals, has been helping fugitives evade justice, and providing aid for families since 1946 ! So far, Berlin has taken no action against Stille Hilfe !

Still Hilfe, or Silent Aid, an organization which provides help for Third Reich fugitives of justice, is funding the defense of Klass Faber, a Dutch Nazi living in Germany, the Daily Mirror reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, Gudrun Burwitz, the 81-year-old daughter of Gestapo head Heinrich Heimler is a leading member of the organization, which began operating in 1946.

The organization also funded the court costs of Samuel Kunz, a guard at Belzec who died last week at 89.

At a recent meeting of the organization the trial of John Demjanjuk, a guard at the Sobibor extermination camp in Poland was also discussed. 

Stille Hilfe is known for helping Nazi fugitives Klaus Barbie and Erich Priebke evade justice as well as facilitating the escape of Adolf Eichmann and Josef Mengele to South America.

The group is rumored to have some 25 active members, including Himmler's daughter, but receives support and funding from hundreds of other sympathizers.

The German Social Democratic party has called for a probe into the organization's charitable status, but thus far, Berlin has taken no action against Stille Hilfe.

Catharine married an Israeli, the son of Holocaust survivors who survived the Warsaw Ghetto, which was burned to the ground by soldiers acting under the command of her uncle.

 
Soon there will be no one left to tell her son (from memory) about the horrors of the 20th century which are an inseparable part of his
heritage. Himmer has attempted to write a book which will offer details about her extended family, and especially concentrate on what the Nazi party's number 2.

 
The book, "The Himmler Brothers," which was published in Germany last week, portrays Heinrich Himmler as a 'family man' loved and esteemed by his relatives, who were certainly aware of some of his crimes. The book gives details about the missing link between Heinrich Himmler the lover, hypochondriac, and chicken farmer, and the monster attempted to perpetrate the "final solution."

 
The first generation of the Nazi's children, who grew up in the fifties, were bullied and made fun of by their peers at school, as the Germans had learned to hate the Nazis, says Catharine. But she was forced to come to grips with her past when she fell in love with an Israeli. "It was as if we were meant to meet," she told the London Times.
