It also clearly shows that all the "fight .." passages are to be taken as metaphors and the fighting being referred to is the kind i'm doing on this forum right now.

ok, I belong to the Ahmadi sect, its neither sunni nor shia. I don't believe everything other muslims do (esp ppl like him) is correct. We believe that many things should be taken as metaphors, so much so, that although we emphasis jihad quite a lot, you will have never heard of an ahmadi commiting acts of terrorism (or even killing, for that matter).

In his opinion, everything he finds in the quran that doesn't agree with his oppinion of what is right is a metaphor, however, I really can't work out quite what surah nine verse five could be a metaphor for...

Anyway, from his strange point of view, Islam teaches the same message as the declaration of human rights...

Surah 9 is what god said to mohammad before the battles with the arabs. its not commands for modern day. any annotation will tell you that.

it would work extremely well. a theocracy under ahmadiyyat would be like any other modern democracy, just without its bad things like prostitution, pornography, alcohol, gambling, monetary debt, and interest. From what I have read of Islam, someone who is born of muslim parents is considered to be a muslim, if they then reject Islam, they are often treated as is suggested in the quran:

"Those who reject Islam must be killed. If they turn back, take them and kill them wherever you find them". Surah 4, verse 89.

Regarding my own religion, if you do not beleive, you are not a christian, sinmple as that, some people would call themselves chrisitian despite not beleiving in Jesus's sacrifice, or even beleiving in God at all, however, that is just like saying you are computer programmer who has never seen a computer, it makes no sense. Christianity is not a race, it is a set of beliefs, it is the belief that Jesus, God's son, and at the same time, part of God, died to save us from our sins, someone who does not believe that cannot be a christian.

Muslims actually believe everyone is born a Muslim, regardless of their parents, and then they can choose whether to stay a Muslim or become an infidel. What a sick religion it is.

Unitarians are not Christians. Anyone who does not believe in the Holy Trinity and in the Deity of Jesus in not a Christian. Also any Christian who hates Jews, does not believe in the restoration of Israel during end times is not a true Christian either.

A Unitarian might call himself as a Christian but he is an oxymoran. It is similar to some Jews who say that they follow Judaism but they do not believe in Zionism. How can a person be truly Jewish and not believing in Zionism at the same time?
