Huckabee endorses Romney!

If we have to vote for Romney over Obama, so be it, but don't expect us be enthusiastic, because Romney at best will just lead us down the Road to Hell slower than Obama!

As the candidates continue to trade rankings in the national polls, Huckabee, who won the Iowa caucuses in his own election bid in 2008, spoke of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s chances of winning the primary. The former Republican presidential candidate urged conservative Republicans to support Romney because he believes the former Massachusetts Gov. has the best chance of defeating Barack Obama in 2012.

“Mitt Romney may not be their first choice, but Mitt Romney every day of the week and twice on Sunday is going to be a much more effective president for issues that they care about than Barack Obama,” Huckabee told Klein. “I think sometimes there is this anxiety within the Republican Party of who is the perfect candidate. The answer is there isn’t one,” the former Arkansas governor added.

Romney came in second behind Huckabee in the 2008 Iowa caucuses, largely because of Huckabee’s popularity among social conservatives in the state. A Bloomberg  poll of likely Iowa voters last week showed a four way tie between Romney, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. Huckabee’s popularity in Iowa could work in Romney’s favor as the countdown to the Iowa caucuses begins.

The former Arkansas governor urged Tea Party Republicans to throw their support behind Romney. “I think Republicans and conservatives and the Tea Party need to get behind him and say, ‘You may not be our first choice, but between you and Obama, I’ll vote 40 times to get you elected,” Huckabee said.

Mitt Romney is certainly not my first choice but I'm content with Mike Huckabee's decision.   Especially since Michele Bachmann  ( the only good choice in the entire field ) having very little chance of winning the 2012 Republican Nomination.      It's imperative that Newt Gingrich doesn't win the Republican Nomination.        Hopefully Huckabee's decision will help derail Gingrich's momentum.

Cain + Kissinger will much be as much as dangerous as Obama. Romney is the cleanest dog out there.

I don't really remember the exact words though I think she was saying it supposedly helps Pakistan protect us from terrorists by finding terrorists in their own country.

I hope he does.  As 'moderate' as he seems, voters do like his charsima, which will be important against Obama.  And he is the only candidate left that seems pro-Israel.  Also, I dont think he is pro-Illegal like Newt is, and he is not a Global Warming advocate.

I don't know about you guys though I still prefer Perry to either Cain, Romney or Gingrich.  He seems like he's against foreign aid now.

Perry would get KILLED in the debate, even against a moderate debater like Osama.  Also, Perry stands with Gingrich on Illegals.

Huckabee was never a Conservative.  Let's remember we liked him because he was in favor of Jewish control of Judea and Samaria.  That makes him pro Israsel not a Conservative.

I don't see Romney as better than Gingrich.  Gingrich on some occasions has been extremely pro Israel taking a harder line than the Israeli government.  We don't like his stance on Pollard (maybe that has changed 1998 was many years ago and much has changed) but has Romney said he would free Pollard?

Where did all our Cain supporters go  :::D Romney was my choice in the last election and I could live with him gaining the nomination this time around should it come to pass... Honestly I could even deal with Newt however I see an up hill battle for him come the general elections should he indeed gain the nomination... It's sad how all the support Cain had around here evaporated with a few unfounded accusations  :::D  People should learn how to stick to their guns a bit more.

It will be nice that endorsement Romney will hire huckabee to be vp.  That will definitely get the evangelical and conservative vote easy

Huckabee as Governor of Arkansas raised taxes, and gave in-state tuition to illegal aliens at state universities.  Huckabee also supported Cap-and Trade like Romney did (but now Romney claims he is against it for now).

It is sad that Romney is the best we can do.

If you are going after a previous record, then Romney is a far worse.

What Huckabee has done in the past pales in comparison to Romney's socialist healthcare disaster... which was a blueprint for Obama care.

Also, Romney was at one time pro-choice I believe.

If you are going after the candidates current platform... then its still a hands down win for Huckabee.  Everything from Taxes, to Marriage, to Islam, to Israel.  Sometimes I think he even listens to Chaim.

Yes, he is STILL not conservative enough... but of the lot... he is the most conservative and is an excellent debater.

The bottom line is the candidate running could be conservative as  Barry Morris Goldwater was but if they can't win in the general election it really does little good... The Republicans need someone that will hold the line on some key issues however be moderate enough in their platform to gain election... The prospect of getting a rock solid conservative into office sounds good in theory however snowballs have a better chance in h=ll...
