RAMBAM- KORBAN PESSAH is obligatory TODAY

Perek 7
Halacha 1
The following rules apply when there were many individuals who were ritually impure due to contact with a human corpse on the first Pesach. If they were the lesser portion of the Jewish people, their offering is postponed to the second Pesach like other impure individuals. If, however, the majority of the Jewish people were impure due to contact with a human corpse or the priests or the sacred utensils were impure due to contact with a human corpse, their offering is not postponed. Instead, they should all offer the Paschal sacrifice in a state of ritual impurity, those ritually impure together with those who are pure.
This is derived from Numbers 9:6 which states: "And the men who were impure because of contact with the corpse of a human soul." Implied is that the offerings of individuals are postponed until the second Pesach, but those of the community are not postponed. This concept applies only with regard to the ritual impurity associated with a human corpse, as explained in Hilchot Bi'at HaMikdash.

There are those who really want to resume the Korban Pesach but are prevented from doing so by the Israeli authorities (due to the arabs). Here is an article which discuses this:

Quote
Rav Ariel: Let Us Sacrifice on the Mount

Rav Yisrael Ariel says there Jews must make Pesach sacrifice even without Temple.
Gil Ronen

Rav Yisrael Ariel says Jews must carry out the Pesach sacrifice of a lamb or goat even though the Temple has not been rebuilt.

"This reality in which the Temple Mount is in Arab hands must end," he said in an interview with Arutz Sheva Wednesday. "They must open the gates for us. There is no argument that there is a duty to make the Pesach sacrifice even if the Temple is not built."

Rav Ariel calls upon the Chief Rabbis to demand the opening of the gates of the Temple Mount on Friday, the day of the Pesach Seder. "They should make a formal request to the government of Israel, to open the gates of the Temple Mount so we can sacrifice."

"Everything is ready – there are clothes for the Priests, an altar and vessels – all they need to do is open. We have asked the Chief Rabbis several times but have received no answer until now," he said.

The avoidance of making the sacrifice is a grave matter, he said. "We are afraid of our own shadow. What will happen if the gates of the Mount are opened? They are afraid of what others will say, but they do not fear as regards keeping the Torah and Mitzvot."

A person who does not make the sacrifice is punished by "din karet," [lit. -- 'cut off', meaning that a person is cut off from the Nation of Israel], he explained. "It is written: 'that person shall be cut off from his people.'"
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

Is Qorban Pesah Feasible?

Learn why the Rambam holds that it is a mitsvah today to bring a Pesah sacrifice on Har Habayit. Hear how the Hatam Sofer debunks the most common myths and obstacles. Understand how to renew smicha. korban pesach

Did Rambam offer the korban Pesach?

 I believe he did.

When did it stop then?  I just assumed it had stopped with the destruction of the Temple.

http://www.korbanpesach.org/en/korban/today.htm

the Byzantine Caesar Yostaninos issued an edict forbidding the Jews from sacrificing the Korban Pesach as late as the Sixth Century of the Common Era, long after the destruction of The Temple. This shows the Jews were still offering the Korban Pessach long after the destruction.

Rabbi Yehuda Zolden brought a number of sources, that up to 54 years after the destruction of the Second Temple, an altar was still present there and in the days of Rabban Gamliel of Yavneh, one generation after the Temple's destruction, they still brought the Passover sacrifice upon this altar (See, Pesachim 74a, the writings of Maharatz Chiyut page 618, Sanhedrin 11b, Beitza 22a, Yerushalmi Taanit 2:5, Netziv, He'amek Davar, Dvarim 16:1-3).
Concerning Rambam, it is unlikely that he offered the Passover Sacrifice, since he made it a private holiday for himself, when he was able simply to visit the Temple Mount, but he makes no mention of offering the sacrifice which is a much greater religious accomplishment. It is also highly unlikely that the Moslems would have let the Jews put up an altar on the Temple Mount during Rambam's time.

The problem is much more than the Israeli government. The problem also greatly extends to many public speakers (Rabbis) who do not bring down the proper Halacha but instead discourage this great Misswah and they themselves are ignorant of these things. And even with the public that asks these things. What happens is that the public is discouraged and their is no real demand and awareness. Once their is real demand and awareness we can only begin the process and begin the Milhama for reinstuting the needed Misswah.
Just like Hannukah, spread the word. Tell people about it and bring the proof from the sources.

Shalom and Chag Sameach!

I recently posted a series of videos by Rabbi Richman of the Temple Institute which discusses the fact that the Jewish people are still obliged to offer the Korban Pesach and he supports a group which tries to do the service every year. I posted the video in the Pesach Videos thread.
