Fischer Candidate To Head IMF
(IsraelNN.com) Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Stanley Fischer, who recently was passed over to head the World Bank, now is a candidate to be chairman of the International Monetary Fund. The position will become vacant in October.
Fischer moved to Israel two years ago after being approached by former Finance Minister Binyamin (Bibi) Netanyahu to become Governor of the central bank. He became an Israeli citizen, a condition for taking the job.
