If they're going to symbolically ask for another state to secede why not California? It all but guarantees a very tough fight for victory for any Republican because all those electoral votes go to the Democrat side. No offense intended to Californian JTFers or people who are real Californians and not invaders or Hollywood weirdos.

Southern California is just as leftist though, for the most part.

I thought Northern California was more conservative than Southern California. Is it possible that Northern California could be a red state if it broke off?

I heard allot of California outside the LA and SF metropolises is conservative. The California Central valley is conservative land isn't it ?
