It is not your place to pass judgment on the entire Jewish people. While you may express your opinion the way you stated things was as if you are making the call as to why bad things happen to good people. This is one area where G-d alone makes the judgement, and especially on the Jewish people.
Other non-Jewish religions point to various sins of the Jewish people, and in the Torah portion we read yesterday, one such event is used by nations against us. We are held to a higher standard, this is true, but that standard is the standard which is set by G-d alone, and no man is in a place to judge us.
We surely are facing troubles because of our misdeeds. But let us work to make things better, not provide the Satan with more negativity which will be used in the prosecution on the day of judgment. Your very act of casting harsh judgment will, in the end, be used against you on the day of your judgment. And I do not want you to receive this harsh judgment, you should attempt to understand why things are the way they are, rather than damning them at the outset.
Sure the liberal American Jews are bad, but there are some who are good, some who are salvageable, and it is our responsibility to reach out to them to help them do teshuva, repent of their sins. The line is drawn when someone declares that they reject our morality, our view of divinity, and then they are a Rasha (wicked one). As we read about Esau today, who was called the wicked one, it is hard to be righteous for a reason. We will suffer in the pursuit to do good. This is the way Hashem made the world...
