A majority in the GOP — 53 percent — now favor the change. That's up a striking 22 percentage points from 2010.

While this is the one thing I completely despise about Libertarians... and why I won't support their party....    there are plenty of positives to Libertarianism... including smaller government...  no welfare.. no international payouts... and no subsidizing evil behavior... And although their stance on drug use may seem crazy....   the government really should not be in the business of telling us what we can or cannot smoke/eat/drink... and I am saying this as someone who hates drugs/alcohol/smoking.

Where do you stand on the issue of 'Temperance'? Do you think Alcohol should be legal or should we resume with the laws which were instituted during Prohibition?

I personally could care less if they outlawed alcoholic drinks. I haven't had an alcoholic drink in over 15 years {aside from 1 cup of Kiddush wine a week}. But if 'illegal drugs' are outlawed I think so too should alcohol be prohibited. To me, as you know, the damage done by alcohol outstrips the damage done by marijuana 1000x...

A good part of the American people have come to the mistaken conclusion that a magical schwartza sits in the oval office and with the stroke of his pen trillions of dollars come out of nowhere ... The vast majority of Americans better get use to sharing their social benefits with the millions of people that will be able to get them once they become legal... The government is crying the social security fund is now almost empty  I want to see just how fast it becomes bankrupt when overnight it will have millions more recipients to deal with... Recipients with large families that will not only get old age social security but be entitled to long term social security disability for themselves and family... I can see people who worked their entire life paying into the system getting 50 cents or less on the dollar because the social security fund now has to cover millions of people that never put one dime into the system... How supportive will they be then? The even worse part of the picture will be is all the low paying part time jobs that some older folks supplement their retirement with will now be taken up by younger  people... Personally I think something went very sour in the thought processes of a good deal of the American population.

WTFMPTC does have a point about the direction social that issues are going in... I could care less about some issues on the list but the thing is the movement to the left shows that progressives have the ear of the American people and see they can now move on larger issues... Most of the issues like gay marriage and medical drug use are feel good laws designed to bring small blocks of people together in some sort of loose coalition... Personally I would have no problem with a well regulated medical marijuana law however what we have now allows old potheads with a few aches and pains to bypass their local drug pushers and continue their life long drug habit... The thing with this is it is slowly making pot use more acceptable something that may seem good but in the long run is really not... It's easy to walk around with one or two joints in a package of cigarettes and light up one or two times throughout the day undetected unlike a drinker that has to deal with bottles and the odor of booze in their system... My concern is not for the life long pot smoker that sits at home after a days work and puffs away it's for the younger people that now have easier access to the stuff because being caught with small amounts of it is no longer a crime worth worrying about in many places... Drunk driving has become a big issue in the past 20 or 30 years however you seldom hear about the number of people that have their drivers licenses suspended due to drug use... The liberal minded system just lumps people like this in with drunk drivers.

Are you Chaim? Do you have an independent mind capable of making rational decisions? I asked you personally a question, and you ducked it...

Statistics support the fact that more people are injured and killed each year as a result of alcohol inebriation. These people are maimed and scared as a result of auto accidents, and innocent victims are killed, and others die from alcohol poisoning. There are no statistics which record any deaths or injuries as a result of MJ. So if you support Alcohol being legal you are responsible for more death in this world than those who support legalizing MJ (which I am also against for reasons I have explained many times).

Do you remember making this statement? That is how it is relevant... If you want to reduce the deaths of innocents (as you suggest in your campaign against abortion) then you should want to restrict alcohol consumption.


But regarding illegal immigration. There is nothing to say... Illegal is Illegal and I am against it. I am all for considering opening up the quota of legal immigration, but those who enter illegally should have no incentive to stay. They should be sent back to where they come from, unless there are political reasons to reconsider.

Remember that the Jews were not admitted to America during WWII because of immigration quotas. At the time it would have been great if Americans re-considered the quoatas in order to save the many Jews who attempted to flee the Shoah in Europe.
