Regarding deodorants, you can find good ones at health food stores that don't have talc.  Try it.

I thought aluminum was the problem in deodorents.

Yes, they thought that aluminum in antiperspirants had some link to alzheimer's and recommended using deodorant instead. There's a lot of debate on the issue.
