Japanese cars don't last!

Sure they do.  My 1997 Mitsubishi has 130,000 miles on it and I've done nothing to it but change the oil, tires and brakes.

I'm driving a Ford explorer from 1996 with 158,000 miles on it!!! I wonder how much more it can go.

It's not the core engineering that bothers me with the local stuff. It's the assembly quality and electrical systems that drive you insane. Jap stuff just seems to go forever with book servive only. You're never at the dealer / shop every 10 weeks with some niggly little problem that seems to be the case with non-Jap stuff these days. Local stuff was fine in the 50s & 60s when they were uncomplicated, but as soon as we started using computers, injection etc they got well behind the Japs.

I agree the Jap cars are not all they are cracked up to be. I have a 98 Taurus with 220,000 and have never changed a part on it except for oil change, brakes and one set of tires. The car still looks and runs like it has 20,000 miles on it. I would like to see the imports make that sort of mileage without major repairs. I also get 30 mph highway and not much less around the town. Ford makes great cars.

You've done well with that one. I'm speaking in general terms, though. If you compare 10,000 examples of each different make, a clearer picture emerges. Sometimes you don't have much choice, eg: taxi operators. Or if you tow double horse floats or Airstreams,  until recently an American SUV/ Truck was the only choice.

Well I owned a Honda and a Ford, and I hate to admit it, but with the Ford there was constant problems,  the only thing needed with the Honda was to make sure no deposits got in the engines.  But you know what, judging how most cars are built today it is a crap shoot.  Are you planning to buy or lease?

Jap cars are the best value.

They retain their value better than American cars, and if you check out reliability and customer satisfaction ratings, Toyota and Honda lead the way.

Yacov made a good point about who is assembling American cars. Schvartzas and Mooozies. While it is true that robotics dominate assembly lines these days, fit and finish on Jap cars are generally better than American vehicles. Keep in mind though that many Jap cars are assembled in America. To ensure that you get a Jap brand vehicle assembled by human beings, simply check the VIN number on the car you're contemplating buying. If the VIN number starts with a '1' it was assembled in the USA, if it starts with a 'J' it was built in Japan.

Japanese quality control is excellent, even the shroogs working the assembly line can't screw up a well engineered car when monitored properly.

As I mentioned earlier, one important factor in buying a vehicle is giving consideration to what it's resale value will be when you decide to get something newer. Japanese vehicles definitely retain their value better than their American counterparts.

American cars are crap.  They're not what they used to be and neither is this country.

We're FINISHED!

Hondas and Acuras are no better than American cars. That is just BS that the self hating moozy media has told us. They always want to make it seem that foreign things are always better. Cadillacs, Hummers and Lincolns are all great cars and can hold their own with all the foreign stuff.  I have had probs with jap stuff and domestic cars have been rock solid for me.

Yes very similar, its pretty much filling that niche since they are phasing out the rsx.  You should try some other dealerships until you find one that is pleased to have you as a customer.

What about Toyota and Nissan?

Your BS doesn't phase me.

Cadillac, Hummer and Lincoln are all HIGH-END domestic cars.  If they measure up to average Japanese cars, my point is proven.

I still drive my 1996 Ford Explorer with 120,000 miles on it.  I've never had a problem with it other than having to change the fuses and the interior doorhandles.  I haven't had any engine related problems whatsoever.  I used to give it a pounding too off-roading and I've even been in an accident in Tahoe where my car skidded out and did a 180 and ended up perched at the top of a 4 foot snow bank.  I was pulled out by a guy with a winch and I drove away with the car still driving great!  It's a beast.

Isn't BMW made by NAZIs?
Bavarian Motor Works was built by Karl Rapp,  Rapp-Motorenwerke in a former bicycle factory near Munich.
I know Toyota is made in Newark, NJ and some in Canada.
American cars are made in Mexico.
VW (Virtually Worthless) was created by Hitler.

With the volkswagen, the stupid germans forgot to put the engines in them. They had to stick them in the trunk as they were rolling off the assembly line.

I don't know.  Asian cars seem to have kept the same image and same quality while American Cars, in most cases have improved over the last few years especially considering their purchase price.  I've heard that Volkswagen, Volvo and even Mercedes have gone down in quality.  I've read that the Volkswagens for America are produced in Mexico now which would explain the drop in quality.

I've never owned an Asian car but I had a Jeep Charokee which had 150k on it when it was sold with the company and 5 years later I saw it still beating about.  When I was young I had one of those Eagle Talons and put 200 on it before selling it to a kid that wanted to totally rebuild it for those street racing.  Had a Porsche and put about 50k on it, a very solid car.  I had a volkswagen Golf CL with about 140k before giving it to my sister who drove it for another 3 years before trading it in on a new Mazda 6 sport wagon.

I don't mind American cars.  Actually, I like a European car for summer (Porsche) and American for winter... ;)

LOL, agreed.  It's sick seeing all these Israelis drive around in Mercedes and BMWs, little Nazi-mobiles.

The Jew in the mercedes has become a stereotype in the western world. I could never work out why Jews drove benzs when I was a kid and I still can't.

True, but one must also add Ford, Jaguar, Auston Martin and too gasoline in general since to this day vastly controlled by the Rockefeller entities who, like Ford, aided both the Nazi's, Communists, Homosexual Parades in Jerusalem, La Rassa etc.

Sorry, I love oil.  I dispise Islam, Socialism/Communism and their elitists cohorts.  If one throws a rock through your window, one doesn't blame the rock but the thrower.  Therefore descimate Islam, Communism (as McCarthy, Goldwater and MacArthur wished) and publically execute their elitist CFR (and like) supporting "globalist" supporters.  There are many good and needed products and bi-products from the petrolium industry.  My two cents, in agreement with Massah on this specific topic.

Newman:  "...The Jew in the mercedes has become a stereotype in the western world. I could never work out why Jews drove benzs when I was a kid and I still can't..."

In my humble opinion, I believe that the stereotype "Jew driving a Mercedes" is a pathological mental disorder; the result of the Jew in Exile wanting to so badly be accepted by the upper tier of gentile society...a truly pathetic attempt to both flaunt one's financial success, while at the same time hoping that a callous disregard for the suffering of one's fellow Jews who died as slave laborers for Nazi supporting industries such as Daimler-Benz, BMW, Siemens, etc.. will somehow ingratiate themself with the "Country Club Set" (who, nevertheless continue to despise and shun the Jew, regardless of Jewish financial or professional achievements).

The fact that most cars in Israel are Mercedes(not the luxury ones that you find in the us) shows a problem with the mentality in Israel.
Does it bother you that you have to face the dome and the rock to say the sh'ma?
