American citizens, including a 26-year-old from San Diego and a woman from North Carolina, were among at least 175 wounded in Saturday’s attack. Several foreigners, including a Canadian diplomat and three British citizens, were among the dead.

The militant Islamic group al-Shabab, based in neighboring Somalia, claimed responsibility for the attack via Twitter, saying it was in retaliation "for the lives of innocent Muslims" killed by Kenyan forces leading an African Union offensive against al-Shabab.

I am aware of this... We should support the Kenyan government which is doing what it can to fight against the Somali al-Shabab. I believe I have heard a report which indicated that the attack was due to Kenya's involvement in the Somalian struggle against Al-shabab. Thus the best interest would be to fight with Kenya against al-shabab.

But, as you said, it seems that more often than not that the obam-me administration supports the muslim brotherhood and al-queda wherever they infest...

The Somalia-based militant group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility in the wake of the attack on an upscale Nairobi mall that left more than 60 people dead, including 2 Canadians, and 175 others injured.

Experts say that the al Qaeda-linked group targeted the Westgate Mall in Nairobi in part to exact revenge for Kenya's military involvement in neighbouring Somalia. Kenyan troops were deployed to Somalia in October 2011, where they joined African Union forces in a bid to push al-Shabab out of the nation's capital, Mogadishu.
