Move?
« on: June 18, 2014, 02:02:22 PM »
I would like to ask for advice regarding a second home.... If anyone has any useful information please share.

I am looking for a place to go if I want to leave the US. I would like a second home outside the country.... Some countries do not allow ownership of property by a non-citizen, if I find a place I really like I would just open a bank account there and funnel deposit money so as to have it when I retire and buy then.

I am about to start traveling some to check out potential future prospects. I like reasonably hot weather and lots of sunshine. I am in my mid 40s so I have a while to save and look.

This summer I will be going to cities in Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, France, and Cyprus..... and Rotterdam, anyone familiar with these places? The Greek Islands and Cyprus look nice but never been so I don't know. I would have loved South Africa years ago but no way I would go now.

I want to avoid muslims/arabs, high taxes, and intrusive government.

Thank You

If you want to avoid Muslims, then don't go to Turkey. Out of European countries, France would be the worse place to go if you want to avoid Arabs.

Are you Jewish? If so, just buy a house in Israel.

Obviously Israel, France has both muslims and big gov. If it's a summer home, somewhere way up north in Canada they won't charge you barely anything for, and it's very isolated so you can do whatever you want.

Come here to the USA, you can own guns to defend yourself against Muslims.. Muslims don't mess with the locals around here and don't rule the streets in most of this country like they do in Europe, excluding places like New York or Michigan, of course.

Oops, just re-read your post and see you're from the US..  Duhh..

My advice, buy a second home in the USA.. It's a huge country, almost the size of Europe.  The Pacific Northwest is a great place to live..  Idaho, Montana, Oregon , Washington.. The Muslims won't get you around here..

What Jew in their right mind would buy a home in France, Belgium, Germany, etc...      The combination of ultra-left wing Jew haters and Islamic Jihadis that populate those countries is enough to keep me from even vacationing there.

I would avoid Canuckistan.. There is lots of Jihadis there and Canada has crappy gun laws.. Although, you can own guns, self-defense is more or less illegal, according to the English Imperial Law they still adhere to traditionally.  The last big site I saw on my way leaving Canuckistan was a giant mosque with a huge crescent moon emblem on the top.. It was a sorry sight to see and made me happy when I approached the USA border to say GOOD RIDDANCE.

True, rural Alberta people are much similar to Montana people.. However, the problem is Canada national law.. The defense laws of Canada suck compared to the USA and Canadian citizens have much less rights than American citizens.  The AMerican Constitution gives its citizens more rights, although AMerican politicians have sought to try to circumvent and remove those rights, however, our Constitution and the checks and balances of our judiciary has hampered their efforts, but not stopped them.  Canada is very much like a European country in its legal system, based much on the British system.  This is why Canadians are not allowed to use weapons in self-defense.  In theory, a Canadian will be guilty of a crime in any self-defense case unless they can prove to the court their reasons for using a weapon to cause bodily harm.  In the USA, this is the opposite, where a prosecutor will have invest funds to persecute you and prove you, an innocent citizen was guilty of some crime.  Self-defense against violence is inherent in our Bill of Rights, but not in the Canadian Constitution.

ANyhow, this is one reason I feel Jews are safer here in the USA than Canada or anywhere in Europe.  Canada's government has also given way too much leniency and support to Jihadists.  In Canada, Muslims can control neighborhoods and impose their rules more like they do in Europe, whereas in the USA, Muslims do not have these means.  Muslims in the US fear retribution from a heavily armed and nationalistic American people who don't like others to impose their cultures rules on them.  That is why most Muslims congregate into large liberal cities and try to blend into the population rather than isolate themselves from it.   There are exceptions, like in heavily Arabic areas of Michigan , New York and a few Midwestern Cities that are becoming Islamic ghettos.  But these are small compared to Europe.

That was before. Now we have Harper and you have Osama. I feel infinitely safer here. There's also only about 500 murders/year in the entire country.

We and you??

Oh, you're Canadian..  ;D

Well, considering Canada has only 30,000,000 people and a majority of it is mostly Caucasian, the murder stats I think can be skewed.  Vancouver metro area actually has more crime than the Seattle metro area, despite stricter gun regulations.  The fact is that Vancouver has a large amount of Asian gangs that are fighting over turf now as the city becomes more segregated and the split of rich and poor increase.

If you removed the Black and Hispanic people from the population of the USA, the murder rate of USA would be lower than both Europe and Canada.  Most of the crime in this country occurs in black and hispanic slums, as well as some in Asian slums, like areas inhabited with Vietnamese, Filipino or Chinese gangs.

Obviously, America is going down the tubes, but geographically, only a small portion of AMERICA voted for Obama..   About 5 or 6 large liberal American cities are the reason why Obama Hussein was put in power..      However, no matter how crappy of a leader America has, the Constitution and checks and balances of the Constitution and Congress protects us from crappy leaders.  Canada with a crappy leader is even worse..  What happens when Canada gets its first black Muslim leader?  Many say Harper risks being replaced with a very anti-Israel French Quebecian type leader.

If you are Jewish, definitely look into Israel and possibly Judea or Samaria..or anywhere else in Israel is good.

If you aren't Jewish, but are willing to live as a non citizen with tribute and servitude (which I know you would do), you can still live in Israel with all of your social and religious rights..Just don't think you would be allowed to purchase land.
If someone says something bad about you, say something nice about them. That way, both of you would be lying.

Where in the world is not going to hell?   Europistan is even worse.. At least America has a Constitution and a powerful enough resistance to counter him.. Europe, on the other hand, is totally indoctrinated in liberalism and totally submissive to its ultra-left wing looney, Muslim arss-kissing leadership.   A majority of Europeans love Muslims and want to throw all Jews out of their countries.  I am amazed at how almost every European I speak with hates Israel and has all types of freaky conspiracy theories of the bad things the Jews are doing to destroy Europe and totally overlook the Islamic invasion.   The fact that like 1 out of 3 EUropean women are raped in some countries by Muslim sand monkeys doesn't seem to phase them as their indoctrinated political correctness makes them submissive to their Islamic guests for fear of being labelled "RACISTS".

Anyhow, America is a lot stronger than the Monkey in Chief in the White House who's power will be put in jeopardy the minute he pushes the freedom minded American people to the brink.  Europe, on the other hand, will probably go the way of the Soviets or Dictatorship.  Europeans are just more submissive people to their leaders, like the Chinese, RUssians.. THat is why the Nazis could flourish in Europe whereas they would never take root in the USA which overall opposes national socialism.

Neo-Nazism has no greater stronghold than Europe where some political parties are actually incorporating it into their doctrine, such as Jobbik and many other Austrian far-left parties.

BTW.. Unlike Israel, I haven't heard of any Jews being thrown out of their homes in the USA.. Are you saying Israel is a friendly country for Jews?  From what I am reading Muslims by far have more power and representation in Israel than Muslims.  Jews are allowed to pray anywhere they want in USA, but the same cannot be said for Israel.  Outside of the Settlements, Jews cannot even own guns, whereas the Arabs are armed to the teeth.  I, myself , don't want to live side by side with 1,000,000 heavily armed, Jew hating Arabs.

Throw in some gatorade and we have a party...

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

I think you should consider Spain and Portugal. They offer lower cost of living, nice weather, and good infrastructure and access to vital services. The fact they are in recession is bad for them but good for you if you are thinking of retirement locations. Unlike Greece (not to mention Argentina and most other Latin America) the society there is more organized and ordered. Just compare how they handle their dire economic situation compared to Greece or Argentina. And they are on the way to recover by the way.

Italy, as far as I know, is a much more expensive country, and moreover it is still entrenched in the old way of mishandling their budget so I would not want to relocate there, just hope over for a visit from nearby Spain.

PS I would be very careful with keeping bank accounts anywhere in the EU. The Cyprus banking collapse and Greek debt default should serve to warn anyone that bank account in the EU is not insured against mass default.

Where is the brink?  Americans are asleep.  Freedom minded.  Maybe in the past.
By the time they reach the brink...there will be no going back.

Last I checked American troops haven't thrown any American citizens out of their homes to give the homes to Muslims (or anyone else for that matter).. At least not yet.. That is more than I can say for Israel's Army, which has on several occasions thrown Jews out of their homes to give these homes to Muslims and other enemies of their own country.

America is a very divided country and you are very dead wrong to say that freedom minded Americans are a thing of the past..   A good majority of our military in this country is very right-wing and is at odds with the government, which on many occasions has sought to persecute the military and its members, itself.  This is unlike in Europe and Israel where a good majority of the military is very indoctrinated, left-wing and supports the self-hating governments of these nations.  You will be hard pressed to find any American Marines who will go along with orders to throw law-abiding Americans citizens out of their homes to make way for foreigners to appease the UN or other hostile nations to us.  A former Marine I use to go shooting with who did multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq told me he was dispatched to New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina.  He told me that at the time they had an Executive Order by Mayor (or maybe it was the Governor of the State) to disarm all citizens who had guns.  The corrupt New Orleans police force said they came to his battalion and told them they needed their help to disarm all the people on their list, because they were outgunned.  My friend told me that the officer who was in charged of his battalion told the New Orleans cops that they were on their own and that they refuse to disarm law abiding American citizens and that they would support the citizens over the police in disarming them.  All his fellow Marines shared the battalion commander's views and outright refused to unconstitutionally disarm anybody.  The crooked New Orleans police, knowing they were outgunned, knew it would be a lost cause.  This shows you the mentality of a majority of our military as opposed to other militaries in the world.

When push comes to shove, I know Americans will rise up and fight against the tyranny that we all knew was bound to plague us sooner or later, hence why the American Constitution was written the way it was written, as the Founding Fathers saw this coming.   On the other hand, other counties will get their Barack Hussein Obama's and Adolf Hitlers and Ayatollahs and considering the people have no inalienable rights guaranteed by the doctrine of their country, these countries will dwindle and deteriorate into chaos which is what you are seeing in many countries around the world.

I am sorry, but I refuse to live in any country, where defending your life is a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT!  Americans have the G-d given right, guaranteed by the Bill of Rights of our Constitution to defend themselves and possess arms.  Sadly, even Canada, the right to own guns and even defend yourself is not a right, but a privilege, just like in Mother Europe.

America was founded by a revolution against atrocious dictators and I know when a good majority of the freedom minded Americans are pushed too far by the imperialist/socialist, left-wing radicals they will rise up and reclaim the country just as they have done from the onset.

I wish I could say the same thing about Israel, but Israel was founded under socialist European ideals and never was considered to be a country based on being a Republic where the rights of citizens are of the utmost importance and the doctrine of law surrounds the protections of these rights.  Israel has adopted a socialistic and imperialist type of law where the people are considered untrustworthy subjects of a state and the protection of the power of the State comes before the protection of the people.  There is no "We The People" motto in the Israeli Constitution, as far as I know.  Israeli people do not have inalienable rights like Americans, e.g., they do not have the freedom to worship or live where they chose in the country.    I wish Israel would rewrite a Constitution like that of the American Constitution, or just adopt the American Constitution word for word and incorporate it with Jewish Law, where necessary.

I really do not see in this day and age any better and safer place to live than USA..  If Obama tried to impose what other European countries or even Israel has imposed on its citizens (more like subjects) then you can bet many states would cede from the Union and take many members of the military, including many military bases along with their nuclear arsenals with them.  America is not a nation ruled by one party, rather there are several entities at work that put the leaders in check so that one small group of people cannot rule the entire country.

I see Americans standing up and having a revolution against the tyranny plaguing the country long before I see Israel doing the same..  Israelis as a whole are very submissive to their leadership..  Just look at how Israel is being overrun now with immigrants and Muslisms to a proportion greater than that of both USA and Europe.

Agreed. What are we a bunch of cowards that run when thing's get bad? NO! We do what our forefathers did, fight evil and oppression. If we fall, the whole world go's to heck. We have to do everything we can to reach others, most people are oblivious. Abandoning America will only make thing's worse for you and the world!

Constitution

 by Prof. Paul Eidelberg

Introduction

The Republic prescribed by the American Constitution is the longest lasting free government in history.  America saved Europe from tyranny three times in the twentieth century, and today it is the only solid bastion of freedom against totalitarian Islam.

What is not generally known, however, is that the American Constitution was rooted in ethical and political principles whose source is none other than the Torah, the Five Books of Moses. Protestant social revolutionary reformers, especially the Puritans of New England, saw in the Torah models for modern government. The Puritans adopted or adapted Torah principles and values in organizing their own colonial governments. Many New England divines agreed with Harvard President Samuel Langdon, who said, in his 1775 election sermon:  'the Jewish government, if considered merely in a civil view, was a perfect republic.' Yale President Rev. Ezra Stiles, who conversed with rabbis, apparently agreed with Langdon that the American Constitution was based on the Ten Commandments.

A.  Historical Background

Although many of the framers of the American Constitution were not devout, their political mentality was shaped in universities whose curriculum was based very much on Jewish ideas.  Accordingly, this essay will be divided into two parts.  The first part will show how Judaism, in particular the Five Books of Moses, influenced higher education in 17th and 18th century America.  The second part will examine the institutions prescribed in the American Constitution and show their roots in Jewish laws and principles.

1.  No nation has been more profoundly influenced by the "Tanach" than America.  Many of America's early statesmen and educators were schooled in Hebraic civilization.  The second president of the United States, John Adams, a Harvard graduate, had this to say of the Jewish people:

"The Jews have done more to civilize men than any other nation.... They are the most glorious Nation that ever inhabited the earth.  The Romans and their Empire were but a bauble in comparison to the Jews.  They have given religion to three-quarters of the Globe and have influenced the affairs of Mankind more, and more happily than any other Nation, ancient or modern."[ii]

2.  The curriculum at Harvard, like those of other early American colleges and universities, was designed by learned and liberal men of "Tanach" persuasion. Harvard president Increase Mather (1685-1701) was an ardent Hebraist (as were his predecessors, Henry Dunster and Charles Chauncey).  Mather's writings contain numerous quotations from the Talmud as well as from the works of Saadia Gaon, Rashi, Maimonides and other classic Jewish commentators.

3. Yale University president Ezra Stiles readily discoursed with visiting rabbinical authorities on the Mishna and Talmud.  At his first public commencement at Yale (1781), Stiles delivered an oration on Hebrew literature written originally in Hebrew.  Hebrew and the study of Hebraic laws and institutions were an integral part of Yale's as well as of Harvard's curriculum.

4.  Much the same may be said of King's College (later Columbia University), William and Mary, Rutgers, Princeton, Dartmouth, and Brown University.  Hebrew learning was then deemed a basic element of liberal education.  Samuel Johnson, first president of King's College (1754-1763), expressed the intellectual attitude of his age when he referred to Hebrew as "essential to a gentleman's education."

5.  This attitude was not merely academic.  On May 31, 1775, almost on the eve of the American Revolution, Harvard president Samuel Langdon, addressing the Congress of Massachusetts Bay, declared:  "Every nation,  has a right to set up over itself any form of government which to it may appear most conducive to its common welfare.  The civil polity of Israel is doubtless an excellent general model."

6.  The Higher Law doctrine of the Declaration of Independence is rooted in the Torah, which proclaims 'The Laws of Nature and Nature's God,' and appeals to the 'Supreme Judge'  and 'Providence.'  Even though Jefferson, the principal author of the Declaration, had reservations about the Hebrew Bible, he supported Baptist churches and framed the Declaration with a view to galvanizing a bible-reading public in support of the American Revolution.

7.  During the colonial and constitution-making period, the Americans, especially the Puritans, adopted and adapted various Hebraic laws for their own governance.  The legislation of New Haven, for example, was based on the premise that "the judicial laws of God, as they were delivered by Moses, and as they are a fence to the moral law, being neither ... ceremonial, nor ha[ving] any reference to Canaan, shall ... generally bind all offenders, till they be branched out into particulars hereafter."  Thirty-eight of seventy-nine statutes in the New Haven Code of 1665 derived their authority from the Hebrew Bible.  The laws of Massachusetts were based on the same premise.

8.  The fifteen Capital Laws of New England included the "Seven Noahide Laws" of the Torah, or what may be termed the seven universal laws of morality.  Six prohibit idolatry, blasphemy, murder, robbery, adultery, and eating flesh from a living animal, while the seventh requires the establishment of courts of justice.  Such courts are obviously essential to any society based on the primacy of reason or persuasion rather than passion or intimidation.

9.  The seven universal laws of morality (together with their particular branches) comprised a "genial orthodoxy."  This genial orthodoxy transcends whatever social or economic distinctions exist among men:  it holds all men equal before the law.  By so doing it places constraints on governors and governors alike and thereby habituated Americans to the rule of law.  As a further consequence, this ancient Hebraic orthodoxy dissolved or subordinated many ethnic differences among immigrants in the new world.  It moderated the demands of various groups, helped coordinate their diverse interests and talents, and thereby contributed to America's growth and prosperity.

10.          Now, without minimizing the influence of such philosophers as Locke and Montesquieu on the framers of the American Constitution, America may rightly be deemed the first and only nation that was explicitly founded on the Seven Noahide Laws of the Torah.  Indeed, the legislation of the several states comprising the Federal Union embodied these laws, including the prohibitions against blasphemy and adultery, well into the nineteenth century.  It should also be noted that the constitutions of eleven of the original thirteen states made provision for religious education.  Some even had religious qualifications for office.

11.  Strange as it may seem, the Seven Noahide Laws were explicitly incorporated in Public Law 102-14, which established March 26, 1991 as "Education Day"!  What presumably saves this Congressional joint resolution from violating the First Amendment is its silence about the Hebraic origin of the Noahide code.  Here I must digress for a moment and say a word about the First Amendment.

12.  The First Amendment states that, "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion ''  This clause is now misunderstood.  It was intended not to prevent Congress from enacting laws supportive of religion, but to prohibit Congress from establishing a state or national religion.  In his 'Farewell Address,' George Washington declared:

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that National morality can prevail in the exclusion of religious principle."

Incidentally, the theme of Washington's Farewell Address is national unity.  National unity, he believed, requires national morality, a precondition of which is religion.   Religion and morality counter man's natural inclination to self-indulgence and his tendency to be preoccupied with the immediate gratification of his own desires.  Religion and morality foster self-restraint and consideration of others.  Far more than secular humanism, religion inspires men with reverence, with deference to wisdom, with concern for posterity.  But these ideas are Jewish ideas, rooted in the Seven Noahide Laws.

B.  The Institutions Prescribed by the American Constitution

1.  The House of Representatives represents 435 districts of the United States, where the people of each district elect one person to represent their views and interests.  The idea of district elections is implicit in the Torah.  'Select for yourselves men who are wise, understanding, and known to your tribes and I will appoint them as your leaders' (Deut. 1:13).  The word 'election' obviously comes from the word 'elect,' and the 'elect' means men of high intellectual and moral character.

            a.  Exodus 18:19 states:  '... seek out from among all the people men with leadership ability, God-fearing men--men of truth who hate injustice.'  Similar qualifications are prescribed in the original constitutions Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.  This is what the word 'election' means.  It is not a democratic but an aristocratic term!

            b.  So, each tribe must select the best men to be their representatives. Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch comments that 'each tribe (shevet) is to choose out of its own midst men whose character can only be known by their lives [hence whose character] is known only to those who have associated with them.'  This is the biblical source of residential requirements for Representatives and Senators in the United States.  Also, what is here called a shevet was called a district after the Second Temple.[iii]

            c.  Moreover, the idea of district elections conforms to the Jewish law of 'agency' (Kiddushin 59a).  This law synthesizes the 'delegate' and 'trustee' concept of representation prevalent in the non-Jewish democratic world.  Whereas the delegate concept binds a representative to the instructions of his constituents, the trustee concept allows him to judge whether adherence to these instructions, when additional knowledge or new circumstances intervene, will harm his constituents' immediate and/or long-term interests.

            d.  Finally, it is a principle of Jewish law that 'No legislation should be imposed on the public unless the majority can conform to it' (Avoda Zara 36a).  This obviously requires legislators to consider or consult the opinions of their constituents.  Hence representative democracy can be readily assimilated to Judaism simply by adding that representatives must be 'men who are wise, and understanding.'  This would make for a 'high-toned' or aristocratic democracy, or a universal aristocracy.   (Bear in mind that Israel is supposed to be a 'Nation of Kohanim,' [Exodus 19:6] meaning a nation of noblemen.)

2.  The Senate.  The Senate represents the 50 states of the Federal Union; it therefore represents the Federal principle.  But the idea of federalism goes back to the Torah and the twelve tribes.  Each tribe had its own distinct identity, its own governor and its own judicial system.

3. The Presidency.  Unlike Israel, which has a Plural Executive or Cabinet consisting of a prime minister and other ministers representing different political parties in the Knesset, the United States has a Unitary Executive, namely, the President.  Of course, the President has a Cabinet, but its members cannot hold any other office and they are wholly responsible to the President, not to any political party.

a.  Now it so happens that a Unitary Executive is a Torah principle!  Thus, when Moses told Joshua to consult the elders when he was about to lead the Jews across the Jordan, God countermanded Moses:  there can only be one leader in a generation.  And if you look at tractate Sanhedrin 8a, you will see that Jewish law opposes collective leadership.  Nor is this all.

            b.  Just as a President of the United States must be a native-born American and not a naturalized citizen, so a king of Israel must be born of a Jewish mother and not a ger [transient sojourner] or convert..

4.  The Supreme Court.  Just as the American Supreme Court is the final interpreter of the American Constitution, so the Great Sanhedrin is the final interpreter of the Jewish Constitution, the Torah.

So we see that the original American Constitution was very much rooted in Torah Judaism!
Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the horn, and the people be not warned, and the sword do come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

This is not very PC to say but the population itself really isn't all that American anymore. At least not here in Houston. Most of them are cheering for Mexico in the World Cup for example. Is Dearborn, Michigan really an American city? I wouldn't say so.

A lot of people who live here and have voting rights are not really Americans at heart. They don't admire American heroes, they don't really identify as American except in the most superficial sense, and they don't share the American view of government's role.

We've become a giant mish-mash of anybody and everybody rather than having any real American character.

There are still pockets of the country which remain better, but those are diminishing.

I agree with what you guys are saying, but you kinda sound like a bunch of defeatists.... WE WILL NOT FALL!

Vancouver is a liberal cesspool. Stay away from the big cities. Canada is going to hell if Trudeau wins. For now, it's the second safest place for Jews under Israel, where Hashem promises to save us. Really, the prophets warn that we won't find peace or anywhere to settle on the galut. Canada's good for making money until you can afford to move.
