Democrats debate boycotting Netanyahu's Congress speech

Of course I think Netanyahu should come anyway. It would expose the true feelings of some of the Democratic politicians about Israel.
The question is, does Netanyahu have the spine to take the political risks involved in exposing the Democratic party or will he back down?

Reading between the lines, the Dems are trying to get Bibi to back down and if that doesn't work, some of them will try to boycott Bibi without calling it a boycott because it is a little bit risky for them to say the truth.

The more important question is how the roughly 75% of Jewish voters who are Dumb-o-crats will respond to this.

The Democrats don't want the US to know whats really going on with Iran and how close they are to having Nuclear weapons...that's why they are doing everything to stop BB from speaking.   The world needs to hear the truth of Iran's rise to Armageddon.

Have mercy  :::D Here in New York the issue will be like water rolling off a ducks back... I thought some of the the old time Gentiles who were New Dealers were bad when it came to voting the Democrat party line however in most cases Jewish support of the Democrats is unwavering.

All of this is just a ploy by obama and his democrap foot soldiers.  They know the addled Israeli mentality and know it well.  They know that any perceived congressional white house or otherwise US disproval of bibi will be perceived back home as a failure on bibi's part to maintain the "special relationship" with the US that israelis obsess over.  That will be looked at as a terrible shortcoming and promoted as such by the israeli media and will hurt bibi in the upcoming elections.  Obama is desperate to influence israeli elections and elect his friends on the farther left.

Quote
At least two US senators, including the chamber's longest-serving lawmaker, will skip Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's speech on the Iranian Nuclear threat to Congress next month two weeks ahead of Israeli elections, deepening a partisan fissure over the address.

In a blunt statement Tuesday, Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy accused Republican leaders in the House of Representatives of "unilaterally" arranging and politicizing Netanyahu's planned address before a joint meeting of Congress on March 3, reports AFP.

Leahy, a seven-term senator, said that by scheduling the speech without input from the White House, Republicans "have orchestrated a tawdry and high-handed stunt that has embarrassed not only Israel but the Congress itself."

However, reports have revealed that despite White House claims of having not been informed and criticism of Netanyahu, the White House in fact was informed before Netanyahu accepted the invitation.

Leahy said the unwritten rule of Congress is to speak and act "with one voice" on foreign policy whenever possible, with US national interests the paramount concern and "with caution about the unintended consequences of unilateral actions like this."

"They have diminished that valuable precedent," he claimed.

US Vice President Joe Biden, symbolically the president of the US Senate, is the most high-profile official yet to announce he will not attend Netanyahu's speech.

Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, is also staying away.

If this was a era of sanity and traditional values,  Americans across the board would boycott the ' Democrat Party' .

There can be little or  no traditional values when a good part of the population waits by the mail box each month for their welfare and subsidy checks and  another part of the population that works is brow beaten a shamed into allowing themselves to be fleeced each week... The few people who see the true picture really don't have the ability to make much effective change.

What you mentioned is definitely part of the equation.

The part that came to mind on this end is the ' Democrat Party'  and a large portion of their base horrible positions on the Social Issues.   Of course,  the one exception on their end is they look the other way when it comes to the actions of the Muslims,  including how Muslims deal with Homosexuals.

The more important question is how the roughly 75% of Jewish voters who are Dumb-o-crats will respond to this.

It will make absolutely no difference.  The "official American Jewish leadership" has long defined Yiddishkeit as political left/liberalism--even with the entire Communist world united against Israel.  (Domestic Commies were told to still support Israel so stupid people could still continue to support Israel as the (lehavdil!) "Cuba of the Middle East."

All this is a result of the loss of civil authority by the authentic Jewish Government-in-exile, the Torah Sages and their Battei-Din.  I am not even concerned about the votes of non-Orthodox Jews; they are a lost cause.

It might be a little fun if Netanyahu doesn't knuckle.  Unfortunately, since he's not the man most of his defenders make him out to be, he just might.  Pressure from Jewish Dems has got to be unbelievable.
