Btw bat is daughter of in reverse, so like I can see you changing the ben and bat for the first name. For prayers for the sick, you give the mother's name, so it's always bat. It is correct to say girly girl bat womany girl, or girly girl ben manly girl, but not girly girl bat manly girl or girly girl ben womany girl.

Here I reproduce a post I made on Facebook earlier tonight. You may share it if you wish:

Um...hey everyone.
Until recently I've been feeling pretty good about the inexplicable fact that I seem to be able to eat more than ever and yet find myself losing weight fairly rapidly with no apparent reason. My cardiologist even congratulated me. Well...I boasted about this to my mother's home health nurse a week or so ago, and she seemed concerned. She said that losing weight like this with no change in diet or exercise regiment or lifestyle can be a sign of...here it comes...cancer. This of course floored me a bit, and I tried to put it out of my mind. But when I had my next telephone appointment with my counselor of course I told her, and she was concerned as well. She really got onto me, telling me that I really should have a colonoscopy (which I've never had, but which saved her from colon cancer at one time). I assured her I would make an appointment and talk to my primary care provider. I did that today, and she says this rapid weight loss is "troubling." There really is no getting out of it. I'm going to have to have a colonoscopy sooner or later. They're going to make an office visit appointment with the doctor just so I can talk to him. The procedure of course will be scheduled some time after that. Right now the office visit appointment hasn't even been made. I've never had a colonoscopy though both my parents have. My pcp says the procedure isn't near the unpleasant experience I've been thinking it is. But...well, you all may imagine that I'm a bit solemn right now. This is going to be dicey. There's no one except my mother, my sister, and I, and when the time for the actual procedure comes someone will have to spend the day with Mama and someone else will have to spend the day with me. So...this is going to be difficult. All my life I've been morbidly overweight, but now I'm losing it and it's apparently a bad sign. Sometimes you just can't win for losing, can you? Anyway, nothing's been scheduled yet but I'm a bit distracted as you all may imagine. And I haven't even told Mama yet; she worries so much about the slightest little thing. I just can't yet. I'd appreciate some prayers for me and mine if you don't mind saying them.

I wish you well Roy. Colonoscopy is really no big deal. I have actually undergone one recently. The most important part is to stick to the preparation orders in the days before the check.

I do pray sincerely that Hashem grants them a refuah shelema, but this covid stuff means I don't have a minyan to do it properly in front of a Torah (https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/2903187/jewish/Mi-Sheberach.htm), so I wanted to do tehillim for the specific disease, sometimes there are some. I will ask a Rabbi in the morning. If anyone wants to help out with the full thing, do the following after giving charity in the merit of these people.

When praying for an individual who is ill, it is customary to recite the following thirty-six chapters of Psalms: 20, 6, 9, 13, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 28, 30, 31, 32, 33, 37, 38, 39, 41, 49, 55, 56, 69, 86, 88, 89, 90, 91, 102, 103, 104, 107, 116, 118, 142, 143, and 148.

After this, recite the stanzas from Psalm 119 that correspond to the letters of the ill individual's Jewish name(s). (Psalm 119 is an acrostic containing twenty-two stanzas, each stanza consisting of eight verses that begin with the same letter from the Hebrew alphabet. The first eight verses all start with the letter aleph, the next eight begin with bet, the next eight with gimel, etc.) E.g., if the person's name is Moshe (משה), recite the stanzas that begin with mem, shin, and hey. If the person's name is Rachel (רחל), recite the stanzas that begin with resh, chet and lamed.

Then recite the six stanzas that correspond to the words קרע שטן ("destroy the Prosecutor"): kuf, resh, ayin, shin, tet, and nun.

Below you will find these Psalms, in both Hebrew and English. And may G‑d hear our prayers and grant a speedy and complete recovery to all those who are ill.
