Jews are indigenous to the area we call Israel and the holy land because Gd said to Abraham, "I'm giving you this land of Canaan to you and your offspring and that's My promise to you and generations to come."

Because the vast majority of the world does not believe in the Torah, Rochman avoids using the Torah to justify any claim for Israel's legitimacy. He thinks there are plenty of valid claims for Israel‘s right to exist on its own that are based on accepted world facts and history.
