The movies are known under the name Saxenwald-Filme (an other spelling is "Sachsenwald Filme").  They were produced by "Reichsanstalt für Film und Bild" in Berlin a branch of the  Reich Ministry of Science, Education and Culture. This institute was responsible for "educational films".

First lots of people claimed that this were falsifications from the fifties. Now Professor Werner Nekes who owned two of the films died and the original films were auctioned. The Zeitreisen-Verlag bought them. They were checked by experts and found authentic.
