Covid hysteria rant
« on: August 10, 2020, 11:23:12 AM »
I wish to vent. I went to a psychiatrist for a routine check up: he refused to treat me for not wearing a mask. I explained to him that I have an exemption and as a mental health worker, he should know better. He refused to look at my letter from my lawyer and kept insisting that I put my mask over my mouth and nose. I relented and he asked my questions about my mental state. I told him that I wanted to kill him and every police officer: that is how unstable I'm feeling. He then tells me to leave. I try to apologise and take back what I said. He says if I don't leave the clinic this instance, he will call the cops I leave the clinic scared out of my mind. Luckily, I have an uncle who lives nearby: he happens to be a therapist. I told him what happened. He very kindly called the clinic to make sure that no police would be getting involved. He assured them that i was not a risk to myself and other but rather just really upset and traumatised.

I love how you present yourself as a victim, that you were so "scared."   Did you think about maybe the fact that the people at the clinic would have been a little scared when you said you wanted to harm them?   They have every right to get police involved when you make threats.
No matter what your "lawyer" says, it's highly likely that you have no medical justification whatsoever to not wear a mask like any other decent human being.

If you refuse to wear a mask, then find a psychiatrist who will treat you through telehealth/zoom rather than in person office visit.  Plenty are doing this now.

I think you do need help. What you told the psychiatrist is very alarming.

I think you need lots of help.  Posting on this forum about how you wish to kill people is not an option.

In Quebec, the mental illness situation is blowing out of the roof as a direct result of the semi lockdown or whatever this is. It is similar elsewhere.

"t's highly likely that you have no medical justification whatsoever to not wear a mask like any other decent human being.  "

Many numbers of people have a medical exemption, tons of old people I know do. The masks reduce your oxygen content below 19.5%, which causes light brain damage to everyone, but for people who are even very anxious or hyperventilators, the damage is catastrohpic.

Of course, if you say it's just a spit guard, then everyone could just wear the plastic face shield, but nothing happening here has to do with medical science.

I'm not from a nice neighborhood, so someone tells me he'll kill me, he's not leaving without a throbbing head, and if he looks like he has mental problems, the legs too so he can't follow, those guys kill more often than the sane.

However, from the statement, it's obvious he's saying the instability that he is experiencing is causing overwhelming feelings in him that he wants to let out in a violent way, no one says a statement like that before killing you. It is clearly not a death threat, it was his unstable way of quantifying his instability. You guys aren't really mental health professionals huh? Being related to Freud, I have lots of shirks in and friends of the family and I find their conversation enthralling.

The guy has the right to ask you to wear a red hat on your butt or else he won't treat you. If you do not enjoy how he conducts his business, take your business elsewhere.

No, they don't.

Masks don't reduce oxygen at all.  Nurses and health practitioners wear surgical masks all day, and this was never an issue.

They don't cause hypoxia, and they don't cause brain damage. Whoever told you this is lying to you.
Oxygen and carbon dioxide diffuse through the masks.   You are spreading false info.   You should really stop spreading nonsense.

It is a "spit guard" (large droplets) as well as an incomplete aerosol droplet guard.   A plastic face shield is great, but it doesn't have the coverage around the face that you need indoors.   So it wouldn't work nearly as well as a suitable facemask.  The mask is fitted to the face whereas with a face shield there is lots of space on the sides and underneath where expired droplets and aerosols easily escape.   It would still likely be better than no mask, but not nearly as effective.

Ok tough guy.  Not all of us are willing to get into a cage fight when someone makes a violent threat.

The mental health professionals he threatened deal with these kind of threats from time to time, and they knew they needed to report it to the police and get him away from there for their own safety.

You just said no like you know things. They have letters. Even the premier of Quebec said store owners can't discriminate against people not wearing masks if they say they have a medical exemption. There are old people on my social media telling me they're happy they finally have their medical exemption. Learn then talk.

If you are sleeping in your bed and there is an opening from your sheet to your face, the carbon dioxide coming from inside will reduce your oxygen content to cause brain damage. Saying putting the sheet on your face, with everyone saying it's harder to breathe, won't reduce oxygen is a new level of absurd. I deal with the HVAC industry, my articles are on the covers of their industry magazines. I'll tell you when oxygen is reduced and you will say "yes, expert". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRmVLYrqQG0

My sister is a nurse. She never wears the mask all day and neither do the other workers, they wear it in the covid wing and more recently in the hallways. The only people who will wear a mask for anything close to 24 hours are brain surgeons or those who are in surgery that long, and they get massive hazard pay. You're just repeating memes.

"Oxygen and carbon dioxide diffuse through the masks. "

Duh, not a hot air balloon. Not all, some comes back. Enough to cause brain damage, which is why any normal medical organization is vehemently opposed to the masking of children, as it severely stunts brain development, and catastrophically so for children under the age of 2.

"Ok tough guy.  Not all of us are willing to get into a cage fight when someone makes a violent threat."

He didn't say "I am going to" he said that what he feels like. I felt like slaughtering thousands when I was in New York, people spoke disrespectfully, but I only beat up one guy with an extra fat rich boy mouth. He is simply indicating in his unstable way that he is experiencing high levels of instability, almost to the point where he can't stand it. The fact that he left scared makes me think he isn't a very old guy, in schools kids tell each other "ill kill you" in happy rich suburb areas, because they're soft and don't know 15 year old kids murdered plenty of people in the places I've been.

You can't blame the shrink, it's not like you're analyzing "well what did he really mean by he'll kill me" when an unstable person says it, you get really nervous, for all my mouth flapping who knows what I would do in that situation. Regardless, he certainly didn't seem like a threat to the forum, just like level 3 unstable sort of.

These exemptions and rules are just legal gobbledygook.

Your claim that masks cause hypoxia and brain damage are demonstrably false.

Not sure why you think any of that is relevant.   Your attempt at argument from authority is ridiculous.

If you measure oxygenation with a pulse oximeter in a person without a mask and then with a mask, it DOES NOT CHANGE.  It does not decrease like you claim it does.
The test this gentleman is doing is not a valid way to assess this question.

What is your point?   Tell her to try the pulse oximeter and she will tell you her oxygen levels do not go down when wearing her mask.

There are plenty of health professionals who wear masks for hours at a time.  When did I say 24 hours was the requirement?   We need to wear masks when we go into stores or indoor facilities where people are gathered, and that is not a 24-hour activity anyway.  But the idea that brain surgeons are getting paid extra due to risk from a mask that they wear is something you invented wholecloth.

Israel Chai, you should really read this comment left by a "Brian B" on the youtube video you cited:

"This is why scientists should perform studies.  This man has no idea about how ventilation works.  The average human breath is 400-600 mL.  When we take a breath in a mask, about 10 mL of the breath comes from gas inside the mask and the remaining 390-590 mL comes from the air around us outside of the mask.  So 10 mL (or 1-3% of the breath) has 17% oxygen and the other 390-590 mL has 21% oxygen. This is a negligible decrease.  This man has no idea what he is talking about."

Yes, exactly.

Doctors make exemptions for many people from wearing masks due to the damage from decreased oxygen. Good thing you played it safe by not commenting on the horrible damage it does to kids to wear them, you get to keep your position and not give life-threatening advice.

You lie down in bed. Instead of tightening the sheet around your neck, you leave it loose, close to your face. There is a high level of carbon dioxide under that sheet, and kids that sleep with their heads under the covers experienced massive brain damage and developmental retardation. Not only is it bad to be under it, if you leave the sheet as I said, the carbon dioxide coming out from under the sheet into your breathing air reduces your oxygen content to the point that it is harmful to your brain. Is there some specific detail that I did not explain clearly here? The point of that fact is to show the absurdity of your argument that masks don't reduce oxygen content, even a covering away from your body does, and a night sleeping with it is very harmful.

I'm not the best at terms, but if by "pulse oximeter" you mean the tool we use to measure the oxygen levels in your blood, try waiting a bit before testing, and then test it in actual conditions, with morons wearing moist and clogged reused surgical masks outside on a dusty hot day, and different story. Near 0 oxygen going through the mask, all the air is coming in from the sides and filled with the carbon dioxide in front of your face. It's absurd to say "well there's just a teeny bit of carbon in the mask and the rest of the air coming in is fine" there is carbon dioxide constantly coming out of a closed environment like that. There's a calculation you do that air quality specialists know to see how much carbon is mixing in with the air coming in, and we have little tools like the guy has to measure it.

There are many jobs that give hazard pay due to working conditions under the recommended oxygen level, and it certainly is factored into a salary of a surgeon, and also into the down time he enjoys. He is breating much higher quality air than someone wearing a surgical mask in a non-sterile environment, however, because it'll keep working, and he changes it several times by the end typically, not to mention blood splatter.

Ask OSHA staff why they codified the "baseless statement" that oxygen levels under 19.5% cause brain damage. https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/standardinterpretations/2007-04-02-0

Eh you're right there was ego in my statement, disgusting. Snuck into my point that strong desires don't indicate any danger, I have extremely strong desires when I see certain women and I ride those beasts in me and not vice versa, you can call it threatening language but it isn't a direct threat, which would be criminal. It's precisely to a shrink that you would say such things, but it's a poor introduction.

The fear of the L-rd is the beginning of knowledge
