A Gentile is forbidden to engage in all forms of idol worship. However, if a person transgresses and worships an idol, this does not constitute a capital sin that could be punished by a Torah-based court unless he serves the idol in the manner that is customary for its followers, or if he performs one of the four special rituals reserved for the Divine service for God in the Holy Temple (the Divine Code by Rabbi Weiner, Second Edition, p 150).
