Why is it that when most  Russians who claim to be Jews that make aliyah they retain Russian names like Anatoly,Arkady,Gennady,Svyetlana,Natasha, etc. why don’t they make more of an effort to be Israelis rather than remain Russians who are merely living in Israel as transplants? I mean my neighbors seem totally foreign & do absolutely nothing Jewish & all I hear is their jabbering away in Russian!!! I mean it is okay to speak among themselves in Russian but you came to Israel so be Israelis & not Russians if you are indeed Jews altogether!!!

 :usa+israel:                                                                                                                          :fist:

That is a good question. I believe that those
“Russians” that are in fact Jewish should, despite
their cultural orientation should have or develop
a proud and strong Israeli Jewish identity, especially those
that made Aliyah to the Holy Land and even some of those
of Russian decent that were born there as well most of whom
are probably patriotic Israelis both religiously as well as culturally.
